Lana,

I was on WP for 1 year. Only TWICE did I get E numbers in the target range and P only ONCE. The last month I was on it, I was using double E. And that was with creams from 3 different pharmacies. Now that I'm on Olive Oil based E, I have my numbers up in the 100's & 200's. Last month, though, they were in the 60's again. I am now using 10mgs a day (spread out of 4 times) and will check to see where I am in a week or so. I am now putting some on my wrist and some on my thighs each day. If they are still low, I will up my E. I am not using any P as I don't have a uterus and I seem to be P sensitive.

Hope this helps,

Liz

I am confused!! So what does seem to work best as an E carrier?????Or is it a matter of "one size doesn't fit all"?I go to the Dr. Monday to get my Rx for E and I read so much about not getting enough E...Yikes. I don't want to get the wrong thing since my E number is only 5, YES, only 5 and I SO need the stuff in me!!*My GYN said we could get my E from WIP. Do they have different formulas for E?O.K. ladies, let the typing begin-I need your input-educate me please!!TIA,Lana

Lana, Women here use E in different forms. Some are still using the transdermal creams, and some may be doing oral E, but the downside of that is it will pass through the liver, which is preferrably avoided. I was allergic to the transdermal cream (there are chemicals in the cream I do not want in my body) and itched all the time. I then switched to hormones made up in olive oil at the Women's International Pharm. That has worked just fine for me, no more itching. But some of us who are using OO/E are finding we need more E to get the desired E readings of 100-200. It may not be true that 1 drop OO/E=1 mg as in the transdermal application. Purety to me is more important, since I am a breast cancer survivor, so we are all looking for our "sweet" spot by testing repeatedly until we find it. Now having said that, there

are a lot of factors that may interfere with good absorption of E, for instance when stressed you may need more, flax oil/seed and soy block E and there are herbs too that can block E absorption too. A lot to learn and we are all different. Some of us do not take any progesterone, esp the ones who do not have a uterus, others like me (who do have a uterus) do use P continuously or cyclically. I am experimenting right now with 50mg OO/P vaginally. We are aware that it is possible to overdose on P and that the ramifications are not pleasant, such as hairloss and more. There may also be a factor here that P may block your thyroid which can contribute to some of the P symptoms such as hairloss, depression , being cold etc. Keep asking and we will try to answer your questions according to what is "known" and our experiences. Madeleen, i have a questions, when you say overdose on 'P'...does it mean over a long period of time? or short term? after my 1 week of super high 'P' *by mistake*, i am very afraid that i made bad situation worse...for at least 4 days i took 100-200mg of P vaginally and 100-150mg orally...then backed down to 150mg orally...I still can't sleep at night though? thanx, -Madeleen wrote: Lana, Women here use E in different forms. Madeleen,

I have been enlightend by you and I am going to make some changes as

I use flaxseed daily-changing that practice...I use Saw Palmetto 3 @

3x daily and just read that it can block the E/P-going to change that

one too. Did not realize that I was sabotaging my health. I wish

that the Derm who told me to take the Saw. P mentioned the hormonal

effect or lack there of it can create!

I can understand your wanting purity. I had such a bad dermatitis

with the WP E cream. They have a new one with sesame oil but I am

reluctant to try it.

WIP states that it has a new " natural " cream...have you tried it?

Has anyone here tried it w/success. I ask because my body seems to

be so sensitive to a lot of things lately and I am reluctant to spend

money on things claiming to be natural and then I find out that they

are not so natural.

Thank you for your assistance-much appreciated as I want to be

prepared for my Dr. visit on Monday.

Oh, one other thing, Lana. Olive Oil is CHEAP!! So cheap, I don't even put it through my insurance.

I am reluctant to spend money on things claiming to be natural and then I find out that they are not so natural.

Liz,

How cheap is cheap??? ***And I don't mean the 1/2 naked " broad "

wearing a ton of make-up and a fake fur on the street corner!!! LOL!!!

Does insurance pay for this stuff? Mine didn't cover the WP.

Lana, there are some women on this list here who have tried the "natural" WIP cream. Send a message to NUI and put in the subject line: "NUI help with natural WIP" and see if she will respond before your appt. Don't think she liked it.
