That is why it's best if you have a good relationship with your doctor. Sometimes it can take a while for a medication to be working to it's full potential so you may have given up too soon. The Prednisone often works quickly with this disease but other medications MAY take a while longer to have more lasting effectiveness. Talk to your doctor and discuss your options. Often it is a matter of time. Best of luck, flare up? Hello everyone, I started using enbrel and prednisone this February. I could taper prednisone and did not need it any more this April. My condition was very good. I stopped using enbrel in the beginning of May for two weeks. My lymph nodes on both axillary were swollen in the end of May. I started enbrel but it is not very effective.(They shrunk after injection but got bigger before injection.) I felt lymph nodes swollen around neck on June.
