Guest guest
Dear Kathy & List: I no longer belong to ASA (for probably about 5 years now) so I don't have a copy of the article written by Dr. Holmes, but I would love to read it, if anyone would want to share a copy with me. I was a member of ASA after my daughter, who is now 10, for a while after she was diagnosed. But what upset me about ASA's philosophy at the time was a " hand holding " of such and not of what to do to truly help my daughter. There were articles here and there that helped me, but I learned so much more from other sources. I remember talking to someone from our state ASA office and inquiring about ABA which is what we have been doing with our daughter for four + years now, I was basically lead away from doing it because I was told that it was too hard on the family and so expensive. Both are true, but watching my daughter make no progress in an incompetent autism program for 3 years, time wasted, was so much harder on my family and starting an ABA program once my daughter was older is probably more expensive than what it would have been had we started right after she was diagnosed. So I let my membership lapse. That said, I want to thank Kathy for her outstanding rebuttal to Dr. Holmes. I felt like I could have been writing those words, and it is exactly the way I feel, and I am sure, there are many, many parents with children with autism who feel that way as well. Where are the rights of our children??? As Kathy said so well, at the expense of those who are looking at $$$ rather than what is safe for these children. Would they want to trade places with us?? I think not!!! I know that ASA is a good organization in some ways, but I have been disappointed in what they have done in comparison to some of the newer groups such as CAN, NAAR, Unlocking Autism, etc. It has been these organizations who have really started steamrolling the need for research and awareness. I am sorry if I offend anyone for saying this, but this is how I feel. Again Kathy, thank you, and I hope that many more parents will set the record straight. Guest guest
Kathy, I am not a member of the ASA, so I have not had the opportunity to read its publications. Your post is addressed to Holmes. I was wondering if this is the same Holmes who runs the Eden Institute and if so, would you mind giving me a little more information on what it is that he wrote that has upset you. I have an ongoing personal battle going on with both Holmes and COSAC here in NJ over their efforts to defeat NJ's anti-restraint bill, among other issues. Also, I am one of 's constituents and, since I'm planning to write to him anyway over the restraint issue, I would appreciate anything I could get my hands on that would show Holmes for what he really is. Personally, I think Holmes is against anything that might actually help autistic children because he makes a lot more money by keeping them low-functioning. What has he done now? Guest guest
Basically he discusses how we should still continue our vaccine schedule, and that children unimmunized are a threat to the immunized. Nothing could be further from the truth, actually, the statement should be turned around, the immunized are more viralent now then the original disases. They would have all the freedoms that they would require to seek life, liberty and the persuit of happiness (remember that little saying?) This perfect world was never offered my children. Unfortunately, my children and my family live in the world you/philisophy on vaccines created for them. A world so confusing and messed up, that they shall never see the light of day. Twenty years ago I had a son who was developing fully, now I have a twenty year old with a two year old mind, and another daughter with a four year old mind in a thirteen year old body. You see, I thought, oh, it's just the pertussis that is bad, NOT. I trusted in your "schedule", I was the good mom, the caring mom, the blindly obedient chattle. What is she really trying to say here? I am saying....get it right! Thanks to your heralded vaccine policy, mercury laiden, aluminum, viral cross reacting disgusting animal origin virus and human virus ridden non sympatheticly given so called "tested" vaccines. My kids with severe immune problems (not seen before vaccines) were never given a choice to say no. My and their informed consent was breached in every vein. Are you the drug lord of vaccines and your coherts (pediatricians) in AMA the unbeknown pimps? How dare you think that we are so uneducated that we don't know where your coming from? How many immunological sources/reseasrch/symposiums have I questioned who agreed with me? And to do that on a ASA publication is truly disgusting. Does the AMA get kickbacks for your little jont? Would that I could have just let my kids have natural immunity, I would take that and it's equally devastating results, so called, instead of autism. I don't see an option here, do you? Until you justify your thinking on those children with predisposition to injury, I hope you answer to them at the judgement bar. And to think you even care, or even will read this, well...... Who should make decisions about the vaccine and children? - PARENTS, DOCTORS, LEGISLATORS or VACCINE MANUFACTURERS> THAT IS THE ISSUE. Special interests continue to push for mandatory vaccines for school children. There so "special", they get paid for it. Why don't you pay me for shutting up? I push for my personal freedom, freedom from tyranny from pharmaceutical corporations who think they know better than I. Don't kid yourself to think they don't have THAT much power over our US economy. This personalized stealth induced surgery they performed left my children with the stealth virus, seizures, autism, IBD (AE) and a host of mitochondrial exhaustions. I would have gladly taken a week from hell, then a lifetime of it. Don't get me wrong, God bless them, I will take them as they are, but do you know my tears? Do you know what it left me? I don't blame God for this, I BLAME THE LOT OF YOU. You say she protests too much? Watch your child through a vaccine injury and see if you wouldn't want to see if someone pays for their suffering? Unless you have witnessed this for yourself, you are not qualifed to speak on our behalfs, plain and simple. My funds toward this newletter will cease and disist until this is corrected and we are give our voice, the voice you silenced in your writing this article. Guest guest
Your welcome Jill. I and many others have written ASA today. What transpired if you don't know is that the " good doctor " thought we should not be anti vaccine AT ALL, and that we should CONTINUE to progress with the SCHEDULE of vaccines as they are, without monovalents, without the right of our refusals becuase he feels : " we are starting a new epidemic of diseases for his patients " , without questioning efficacy and safety on ANY levels!. Did he forget we are in a PANDEMIC of autism? Does he read MEDLINE or the VAERS reports? What kind of freedom is that, I thought my father and your fathers fought for freedoms a long time ago? Apparently our citizenship means putting our kids on the battle front lines and are the necessary evils of vaccinations and mass immunizations. We're crying out from the dust and no one is hearing. Should have heard my son today as he freaked out (I think some kind of diet infarction), and put his fist to his mouth and said, NOT COME OUT!! I have to have his words by my words! He is imprisoned by these necessary evils, and I for one, am fully aware of conspiritous relationships in the pharmacrap industry and the government. My bubble was burst the minute my son screamed bloody murder 11 days after a DPT. What he is not registering is that those who are getting the vaccines are actually mutating the original virus, and that THEY are the ones WE should be worried about, since their STRAINS are much more viralent than the ORIGINAL.
