Guest guest
Hello, I have been dealing with severe dandruff for the past while now and it seems like nothing I use seems to combat it. I was using Nizoral once a week, then upped it to twice a week, then upped it to everyday, ( mixed with my regular shampoo ) I have a very itchy scalp, am experiencing thinning on the top of my head, and still the dandruff is there. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. L __________________________________________________ When I was going through that problem and getting the scaly scalp, and losing some hair from it..my doc prescribed Fluocinonide topical solution. She said to use the prescription strength nizoril shampoo too..i was using it every day. Also u can use Neutragena tar shampoo. If the scalp also breaks out, your doc can prescribe Olux foam to apply to those areas. I hope this helps! My scalp is now very healthy, and my hair is nice and thick. The flakes and fallout stopped! Guest guest
I use Nizoral shampoo every day. I usually let it stay in my hair for over 5 minutes through the shower. I have also been using the Nizoral+Rogaine gel for 2 months. Try not to use baseball caps since the built up sweat can make the itchiness worse. I also hear that tea tree oil products are good for a dry-itchy scalp. You may want to go to a Whole Foods Market or something similar to ask them. You may want to try the gel since you would leave it on your scalp after a shower just like any hair gel. Guest guest
Guys, I've had this problem also, and after all the medicated shampoos the one that I've found works best for me is Head & Shoulders shampoo for dry scalp care. It says pyrithione zinc on the front. Believe me, I was quite surprised how effective this was. It might be worth a try. Larry -------------- Original message -------------- From: WEBcfm@... Guest guest
guys, i been having the same problem: itchy scalp, and loosing hair for about a year. It all stared loosing a lot of hair at once. now i keep lossing the hair but not as much. i also have extremly itchy scalp. i just turned into my 40s last summer. i may be loosing hair because of this. But i wonder, because of all the posting here, if the itching and the lost of hair is a side effect of either Sustiva or Truvada. on me the lost of hair comes with very a itching scalp and it does not go away with Nixoral. i also use topical rogain and propecia in pills (cut in 4 pieces, one piece a day). i notice 2 small bumps in the scalp that feel like raised moles, but they are skin colored and somedays are more noticeble than others. is like they are little bumps of water or oil. i will go my demartologist this week. any coments on this? have any of you experiance the little pumps? it seems that there are a lot of posting about this particular topic. maybe if we discuss a little more about us, like age group and meds, we could help each other more. Posibly this info (research) will help us talk with our doctors about the possible side effects of either meds or our condition as hiv+ males and we could find a solution to this, what seems, a comon problem within this comunity. just a tought. health to all.
