Guest guest
Singular made me itch something awful. My lower ribs and upper legs. Doctor said Singular affected some people that way. Anyway, my asthma is now under control with Advair 250/50, one puff twice a day. I have also used Azmacort with success. In fact, my doctor said that if I started feeling that symptoms were returning, to take Azmacort in addition to the Advair. Sort of doubling up on prevention. You can't just take more Advair because of the Serevent. The only thing I don't like about Azmacort is that it takes about 6 puffs to equal one puff of Advair 100/50. I am going to ask my doctor about using Flovent rather than Azmacort. Flovent is Advair without the Serevent. As to smoking. I quit smoking in May 1976. (Such a big event, I still remember the month and year.) Even so, I have mild emphysema which aggrates my asthma symptoms. Doctor said quitting smoking was the smartest thing I ever did. Guest guest
Re: Anyone having any success with Xolair? Hi Greyskr: I read Serevent recently had a recall warning on it for causing death. I think it was posted on Yahoo's Health and Healing. Second warning! Walt Singular made me itch something awful. My lower ribs and upper legs. Doctor said Singular affected some people that way. Guest guest
Hi, Greyskr, My doctor tried me on singular. It made me itch so bad I had to go to the e.r. He said he did not understand. He had never seen it do anyone like that before. I talked to my drugest about it. He said it has a touch of sulfa in it which I am very very allergic to. Guest guest
Re: Re: Anyone having any success with Xolair? Hi Christa: I heard sudden death! Non-fatal or heart attack is in the warning signs I thought! Do a search on Serevent death and see what comes up. I got rid of all of mine! Guest guest
Walt, The Serevent warning and trouble are with the inhaler not the discuss that most people use. C-M
Guest guest
Walt, Again, the trouble is/was with the inhalers, the discuss has a different delivery system and formula and is not the same as the inhalers. It's usually taken twice a day. C-M
Guest guest
> Walt, you're way too high maintenance and needy for me to deal with you. When I rebut something you write (such as your post that Serevent was recalled), I'm directing it to everyone else here and not you. You're a nutcase. People all over the internet are tired of you. So go ahead and post twenty more rants here about me, as you did last week, but know that most of us here think you're a loon, we know that you throw in random statements that are probably untrue about yourself in an attempt to gain sympathy, and many people delete your emails without even reading them....probably a good idea for all of us. If only you and your fellow 'Trons' would board the UFO you flew in on, and return to your original planet, this cyberworld would be a happier place! > > If there's any way to filter or screen out a user here, pls someone drop me a line and let me know how! > > Maureen > > I joined this group for help and support. I didn't expect bickering between members. Stress makes my asthma much worse. Good luck to you all. I am leaving this group.
