Me, home school, NO. Hi Judith!! <waving> Just wondering what you think about Homeschooling " through " the school district?? One year (2nd grade) we did this. You know when a child is sick, on vacation, child actors, etc, they use the school's home study program. The child is assigned a teacher (sometimes they will come out to your house...in your case they probably would), and give your son all his assignments. They come out again the following week and grade his work. The teacher should be able to adjust the work to whatever he is capable of doing. Since your son is home and in his room, I thought this might be a good possibility. He won't " lose a year " this way. Our school district still gave him a report card and the same exact books he would use if he were attending school. This way, when ds returned, he was right where the other kids were. (Well, in my case, my son moved ahead quickly and was right where the 5th/6th graders were. lol) We would probably still be using this program except ds's teacher went on to teach high school and ds was wanting to make friends. So we found a similar program with a Charter School. The difference is that they offer lots of classes that ds can choose to join. Hope this helps, Debbi
