Does the Quickbooks credit card processing give an option for online payment by patients?

I keep wanting to have a webpage the patient could surf to...put in a reference #...and pay for the bill online w/ a credit card.

thanks

We have a conspicuous sign in our waiting

room that says “If you do not have your co-pay today we will have to

reschedule your appointment.” No co-pay = no visit.

Yes – just started using it 2/06 -

works well for the transactions (use the little card swiper for ~$90), but

still figuring out how to get it to synch with my Quickbooks (my accountant

father is helping with this, and trying to figure out how to get our versions

synched up – he is not local). I also use the Quickbooks credit

card for my business use, and that has been easier to download into QuickBooks.

We have been using the Credit card that downloads transactions to quickbooks and the credit card swiper since we opened a year and a half ago and are happy with each. We are not using the online payment service but they do offer one. I was looking at it the other day and it appears that Quickbooks (Intuit) contracts with some web design companies that will either create a new site for the purpose of receiveing online payment or help you integrate this feature into your existing site. I didn't see anything regarding the cost of doing this. It is an interesting concept. I wonder if people would be more likely to pay promptly on our invoices by logging on to make a credit card payment vs. writing a check (assuming they have the money in their checking account)? Have others used online payment, and how does it work? I know that quickbooks will allow you to email invoices to customers right out of the box, but we haven't done that yet because only a minority of our practice is "on line". We are getting emails from those who have them as part of registering with the practice so we could use this in the future.

On the fence,

Greg

Greg: I am also interested in this option. It would make statements and collections easier, but he cost is my concern. Every added feature alweays seems to cost etra $$$. RE: Quickbooks credit card processing

If Quicken becomes our credit card processing company (we currently use someone else) will the payments post automatically in quickbooks? This would be a big time saver for our bookkeeper.

My staff tells me that our swiper is "wearing out" after about 7-10 years and malfunctioning.

We use quickbooks for bookkeeping and payroll. We bill pts from our Practice Management software.

Please advise.

It can post automatically if you have quickbooks. I do not do it because it didn't post it the way I wanted, but that was my own issue. I know that I collect between $1000 to 2000 a month with the credit cards and I pay less than $50 in fees usually. Sometimes people in collections give card info. to my collection agency who phone in the number. This would otherwise probably be lost money. Many times we collect much better because of the credit option. Initially, I had bought a machine and was paying high fees. I use quickbooks anyway so this was such an easy thing. I have been very happy. I paid $75 for a card swiper. I use the virtual terminal opton because I do not want anyone else to access my quickbooks. The log on up over the internet and can take payment on any computer if we wanted to. We usually just use one. Quickbooks now has a credit card processing only option for less if you do
