Hi Unda Docs -

Have a case with my 4 yo daughter that has tonsilitis (R +3, L +2), adenoiditis,

and middle ear effusion. The only symptoms are mouth breather at night and mild

difficulty hearing (just says " what? " frequently, but now validated via

audiology testing).

She has a generally good " naturopathic kid " diet (whole foods, minimal

dairy/sugars, etc.). Has been on fish oil, probiotics, kids MVM, vitamin D etc

since infancy. Never had complaints of ear aches/pharyngitis, never been on any

medication. Over the last 6 months have been more vigilant on avoiding common

allergens (dairy, eggs, sugars). I put her on Unda 2, 37, 312 6 drops BID ~three

weeks ago, extra vitamin C several months ago.

Two weeks ago finally had appt with HEENT and as expected he would like to do

bilaterall tympanostomy and adenoidectomy. The ball is now in my court. So a

couple of questions.

1. Other ideas for treatment? (I plan to do Alletess IgG food allergy.

Considering cervical adjustment).

2. Other ideas on Unda's?

3. If you have been successful in treating, time for resolution?

4. Once tissue has hypertrophied how often have people seen a significant

reduction in size?

5. Given that the middle effusion has been present for 1+ year I suspect it is

somewhat thick (i.e., glue ear) and wonder about the ability of it to drain. As

part of the tympanostomy the mucoid effusion is removed via suction. The

audiologist that did the testing is an adult patient of mine and is quite

" naturopathically " minded. In her professional experience she has rarely seen

this thick fluid resolve and recommends the typanostomy for this reason. " Your

daughter will notice a night and day improvement in her hearing and most often

kids need that are otherwise eating well avoiding allergens completely

eliminated the problem after the procedure. "

Thank you for your response
