Hey folks, I am just now hearing about the class action law suit brought up by patients who have taken accutane and now, many years later, are being dx'd with ulcerative colitis. A patient of mine fits this category and I have a few questions. Some of the other things he has noticed since taking it almost 20 years ago are seborrheic derm, skin tags (esp on his eyelids), inability to process fatty foods and a general sense that his secretory function is inadequate. All of this fits with the MOA of accutane. My question is, are there certain Undas, Gemmos, Gammadyns or other remedies that people have found helpful in restoring function in these folks? Generally speaking, it plays along the lines of getting emunctories cleared and functioning optimally, but there seems to be another layer or level to it. We are doing BTG's, have done 4 months of

Undas so far along with gemmos such as Ribes, ficus, juglans and lonicera and anti inflammatory diet. I know we will get where we need to go eventually, but I was hoping for other people's experience of the long term effects of accutane and thoughts on the deep healing of all those secretory functions. Thank you!Jeannie Achuff, NDBerkeley, CAOriginsofHealthNaturalMedicine.com
