Sadly, relying on Quackwatch for ANY information is about as good as

relying on just about ANY .com that is selling stuff. They are just as

egregiously bigoted. I basically do not trust what they say. Some of the

information is essentially true.

Next--Droge and researchers have noted a MASSIVE loss of sulfur in people

with HIV. (Just check pubmed--or I'll get the cite later--doing catch

up). However, rather than MSM, I think NAC and whey proteins are probably

better supplements to offset this loss.

I have heard anecdotally that MSM can be very helpful in relieving

pain--enough that I'd say it is worth a try for a period.

Having said all that, there is a REAL dearth of clinical information on

this stuff and much of it is the not credible spew of salesmen.

Again, this is why FIAR was founded--to help do such studies. As we develop

a better funding base to do our own research, we can probably conduct at

least some fast, preliminary studies to get a beginning idea of

safety/efficacy that, if warranted, could lead to larger studies.

I was labeled with fibromyalgia 10 years ago. I spend 6 years managing chronic pain. 4 years ago I found distilled MSM sulfur. 4 weeks after starting to take MSM my pain disappeared and I have never looked back. I believe everyone should be taking distilled MSM, (not chemically made).

I take 1 desert spoon daily and feel great. I live in Australia and get my MSM from a company called organic herbal colon cleanse. It is pure, distilled and looks like granulated sugar. I take it in a glass of water dissolved first with hot water. MSM is a magic wand cure for inflammation and I love it!
