Guest guest
Hi Nic, Looks like today was the day for Physio's! I'm absolutely astounded that YOU found it so uncomfortable to look at yourself in the mirror......You are a STUNNING & VIVACIOUS woman & you should Know that RIGHT NOW...remember.....Who & What we Think we see in the mirror isnt always what other people see. As for my Physio, heres what I learned from him today while I was getting Physio for the referred pain in my shoulder. It just so happened that todays Therapist-On-rotation ( Public hospital, So you get who youre given ) happens to have worked with my surgeon some time ago,so he is quite familiar with the ins N outs of what happens to our bodies from a Physios point of view After this kind of surgery.I happened to mention to him that my back was out for No particular reason that I could pinpoint & that's when he told me that That was absolutely normal after This kind of surgery ( Huh ? )...He also mentioned that I should expect some pain in my feet as I lost more weight ( already got that too ! )...reason for all this is Basically RE-ALIGNMENT. Since for so long I've been walking Gut-Out,leaning backwards to compensate for being front-heavy ( it's just like being pregnant again...Except without the baby ! )...But now that I'm loosing weight... & starting to walk more Upright,my back is having a bit of a trying time adjusting to the new angle. Anyway he showed my some exercises which he said should ease my back into " remembering " how it " Should " be aligned rather than what my excess weight has forced it to have to adjust to.He also said that its vital that I do CORE exercises to strengthen my abdominal walls in order to stabilise my back & therefore my whole upper body. How interesting is that I ask you ? Anyway, I thoguth this was important enought o share with all you guys... But now that I think of it...most of you ladies/gents whove lost serious weight probably already know this stuff.....But just in case...Now you know that " WHY " ? Sue.
