Guest guest
Hey Cherie It is hard, because reflux is awful and very hard to 'live with' - that's to say you cant live with it because it interrupts sleep and not only that is indicative of something else that is not quite right. So you want to make your surgeon fix the problem. This may mean getting some fill removed. I would rather have less fill than be having reflux and have a slippage or hiatus hernia to deal with. Guest guest
I would also add that not eating a big meal at night, having something small is better late arvo early evening and having the Nexium at lunch time or late afternoon to make sure you are covered for the night is also a good idea. Guest guest
Hi Cherie, I'm on Pariet, and everything's fine, but I didn't know that I had reflux in the first place, it showed up on my endoscopy and barium swallow, but maybe once I get some fill it will rear its ugly head...or maybe not. Pariet is a nice little pill that's easy to swallow, and it should do the trick nicely for you...I hope. Cheers,

Guest guest
Definitely agreed. Will see what surgeon suggests tomorrow. Someone also just mentioned to me that reflux can be stress related which may be another reason it has just occurred out of the blue. I'm definitely onto this fast as I can't take too many more sleepless nights dribbling and coughing muck - it's revolting. Guest guest
Thanks Nic - will definitely start taking the meds in the PM and currently do try to eat as soon as I walk in the door at night. At least now that I've lost the hunger and I'm not always grazing at night, this is easier to do. Just when I thought I had finally got it altogether - in the head and round the tum, there's another issue to deal with. Band life would be very dull if there wasn't something going I and we wouldn't have this great support network to grumble to!! Guest guest
Hi Cherie, I am on Pariet, and have found it to be the magic pill. I was put on it after my last bad gall bladder attack. I ran out at one stage and it was hell. I take it each morning, and don’t have a problem. I hope it works for you. Anne -- No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
Hi Cherie I have been on the Pariet and the Nexium and found the Nexium to be the best for me. I think the doctor should be looking into why you are having reflux, glad to hear that you have an appointment tomorrow with your surgeon. Guest guest
Anne thanks for your note - you are the second person to praise it and even though I only took my first 2 yesterday (2x20mg), there was a definite difference last night so perhaps by tonight I will notice a big improvement. Drugs - don't you just love them .... Cherie > > Hi Cherie, > > I am on Pariet, and have found it to be the magic > pill. I was put on it after my last bad gall bladder attack.
