Guest guest
Seriously, why are homocysteine levels, inflammation, C-reactive protein, CoQ10, Vit. C, green tea, .....etc. etc....never mentioned by the doctor with all the scientific knowledge? I believe it is because there is'nt a drug which can correct these things.........therefore, no money to be made:) If ever there is a drug/s which corrects inflammation of the arteries I don't think statins will be prescribed, but they are the big money makers at the moment. It's not about people and what is in their interests, it's about money!
Guest guest
I am not a medical person either... but have learned from this group and reading and watching. Yes the drs would be out there like we are without all the perks they get for writing those prescriptions . The only time they ever did a crp test on hubby was when he is having chest pains. the next blood work up am going to ask about the homocysteine.. they don't want to cure us, the meds are not a cure anyway in my thinking they are just a cover up for the symptoms, just like cancer, why don't they cure it, there is to much money in the treatments...We are one of the many that has told our Doctor No on statins...JudyinMO Re: New to group, need adviceGuess this is how we find our info. I don't presume to be a medical person; would never, ever give advice. I do have many physician friends and have small amts. of knowledge (just enough to be dangerous)...Seriously, why are homocysteine levels, inflammation, C-reactive protein, CoQ10, Vit. C, green tea, .....etc. etc....never mentioned by the doctor with all the scientific knowledge? Could it be, because maybe some of these things work? Drug companies will certainly lose BIG TIME.......these doctors will have to blend into the middle classes.,......HORRORS! Lipitor will definitely be LONG GONE within the next 5-10 years (only because the side-effects will be very evident...........The Lucky ones will be those who refused to submit to this ridiculous DRUG!!!! We are the minority; SO?

Hi Judy You are right, meds only treat, they don't cure. It's the same right across the board whether you are talking about our hearts, cancer, depression etc. But maybe if they could cure these things they would'nt be making money out of treating them! I am looking more into Chinese medicine because there are cures there because they treat the body as a whole rather than one part of it. Basically, if everything is in balance within our bodies then our bodies are capable of putting things right when they go wrong. I am only on the fringe of understanding it at the moment, but what I have learned so far makes a lot of sense. For instance, if our body makes too much cholesterol or insulin it should also be capable of correcting that. Sorry if I've gone off the subject a bit:) Take care
Guest guest
Our cardiologist and homosystein....... he said it is of no importance because if we take a multiple vitamin that should take care of it. Our cardiologist on Q10.......he says is a waste of money and time. It is pretty bad when you live in a place where this is the only kind of doc you can get.......and even more bad, when you have had a HA and need to have a caring doc around to direct you...which is OUR case. It's not about people and what is in their interests, it's about money! > > It's about scientific research--doctors are brainwashed to NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING UNLESS THEY READ IT IN THEIR MEDICAL JOURNALS. everything else is just " anecdotal " and to be ignored. there are very few or no existing studies for many of the things you mentioned- - the reason homocysteine levels and supplements have not been studied ? the Pharmaceutical industry has not developed a drug to address these problems and they cannot patent a natural occuring substance such as green tea or coq10--thus they will not fund any studies about homocysteine or the supplements mentioned--that is where most of the research $$$ comes from today, from the pharm industry--thus NO studies on homocysteine--no reports in peer reviewed journals--no drugs to treat it--it all gets ignored. Add to all this the fact that the medical community is INCREDIBLY slow to accept ANY new science--the MD who won the noble prize in medicine for finding H pilori was the causative agent in most ulcers had to drink a beaker full of the bacteria to infect himself BEFORE anyone in the medical community would take him seriously--he had been studying and reporting the association for almost a decade before he undertook this experiment of infecting himself. Dr. Kilmer McCully has been writing about inflammation and homocysteine in heart disease for more than 2 decades now--you could google his name and read some of his writings. as long as the pharmaceutical industry is determining what clinical trials are to be held, what to study, what data are gathered, what endpoints are to be looked for and what to publish from all the data, there will NEVER be studies on homocysteine--or statin side effects for that matter. independent researchers cannot get funding for studies that are counter to the interests of the pharm industry--and if they do continue on their own, I suspect they commit career suicide.. > > >
Guest guest
Hi , no you are not off the subject as this is in all fields of the medical as you said, We are doing the supplements and eating more natural veggies... JudyinMO Well, Judy, 3 times now my doctor has prescribed me with drugs that I either have big problems stopping because of awful side effect, or could have killed me, so I don't feel I have much trust in him. I practice Tai Chi and Chi Kung and am now going a bit deeper into the health and medical side of it. Of course, if I find anything out which would be useful to the group I will share it:)

Jill Well Jill, thank goodness for the internet. But at the moment, even if you have access to different doctors they all seem to agree with each other! It's frustrating. Guest guest
It' BECAUSE they work why thay won't tell you! How can they make their $$$ if you are healthy. AND they DO work. I am a care giver of a 52 yr. old who was told to "get her affairs in order" because she was dying in a couple of weeks and the Dr's didn't know what was causing her potassium to go down to 2.0. After taking herself off the Lipitor, She is doing a 1000% better from green tea, c0q10, and other supplements. I am no Dr. either, but I can see with my own eyes that my client has made a almost 100% complete recovery, and just so you will know, her neurologist told her that she might feel the effects of the statin poisoning for up to 5 yrs!Debbie Pidick Debbie, we don't need to be a doctor to realise something is making us ill, do we? When I had my reaction to a statin all I knew was what I read on the leaflet that came with it, and muscle pain etc was there. After I joined this group and started to look it up on the internet I could'nt believe what I read! People's lives being ruined because of these drugs. I'm glad to hear that your lady recovered after stopping her statin. Just in the nick of time by the sound of it.
