Bob, we do not recommend taking the old BW (cable) apart. The only part that can malfunction is the Spring-stop and there are not any replacements. I've taken both of my Bullworker 2 models apart with great success

for a clean out etc. The BW2 and BW3 are vey similar (except handles)

and should come apart quite easily.

However, a word of caution - be careful when the Bully is in pieces

not to lose or break any parts as they will not be able to be

replaced. basically, don't take it apart unless you can afford to

lose the Bully completely!

That said, a strip down is easy and the only tools you'll need are an

electric drill and a manual pop-rivet gun (and rivets of course)!

Simply drill out the old rivets, compress slightly and twist the

handles to loosen them while pulling them from the tube ends.

When this is done the whole Bully will come apart (no tension, so you

won't have bits flying everywhere) for thorough cleaning and re-

assembly.

When re-assembling just make sure that the joined end of the cable is

positioned inside the handle before rivetting again.

I've done this with both my BW2's, alone and without any problems at

all - provided you are careful it's easy. Someone had to put it

together originally so it can't be that difficult to take apart!

Just remember to be careful when all the inners are exposed as any

breakages will result in a useless Bully - there are plenty more on

eBay though so I'd take the risk.
