Guest guest
Before I ask my question, let me just say what a huge help and comfort this group has been for me over the past week. It's been a week from he--, waiting for my appointment with the gastroenterologist (which is Wednesday), but you all have helped me more than you know. Now for my question. I've read a lot about itching. I am " itchy " sometimes, but not to the point that it's unbearable. It really doesn't bother me at all -or at least not much (right now, I'm extra " itchy, " but I think that might be because I'm thinking about it). Is this the sort of itching that is a result of liver disease? I'm asking because I'm wondering if it's something I should mention to the doctor on Wednesday. I don't know what my liver enzymes were exactly when I was tested last week. The doctors said they were " slightly elevated " - but not even to the point where they would've been overly concerned about it. In fact, they found the cirrhosis quite by accident - on a CT scan while they were looking for gall stones. It was THEN that they put it all together - the elevated levels, the low platelet count, etc. I'll admit, I'm HOPING that the " itchies " I have now will be the extent of it, because it is bearable, but I'm wondering if I should be " waiting " for it to get worse. Thanks for all your help!!! Donna
