Guest guest
Thanks for reply -and yours Mandi. Had read it absorbs mercury - maybe that would be mercury circulating in the system anyway, not in an organ?JanetTo: Autism-Biomedical-Europe From: thelifechangers@...Date: Sat, 16 Jul 2011 22:37:06 +0100Subject: Re: Re: Diatom Dear JanetI have not heard that it has to be short term only.. and I think that initially I would stick on it for at least a couple of months and then see. I know nothing about chelation.. I think that there is a big difference between detoxing and chelation. I have not heard anything about it being chelation agent.. I would only surmise that with a cleaner colon and a larger less toxic surface area, that the body and the cells there in are more able to detox.. which may include heavy metals.. Best WishesTraceyPS It is worth noting that in Zimbabwe we used to use Diatomaceous Earth in the sand filters in our pools as it was such a good cleanser of microtoxins from the water.. and we lived most of our summer holidays in the pool.. with no ill effects.. Thanks for the extra information Tracey. Can it be used safely long-term for children then do you know- or is more to clear the colon initially? And what about the idea of it being a chelating agent- something i thought that should be avoided unless using ala etc under AC protocol? JanetTo: Autism-Biomedical-Europe From: thelifechangers@... Yes it is abrasive, however it is less abrasive than say nuts or corn flakes or any other food like that. I know that someone incorrectly presumed that since it has silica in it and silica is the base ingredient for glass, that it was the same thing.. This is not the case. I can only recommend it because Scotson has been using it with many of her patients and they, such as the Cerebral Palsy children can have even more complex health needs than many of the ASD kids and she is finding that they are doing well. better health as it helps to clear the hardened excrement which can slake and line the colon and form almost like a limescale effect on the colon. If following a twisted bowel and major colonic surgery is able to cope with the DE, and she has a very very sensitive colon anyway, I think that I am comfortable using it. If in doubt start off slow and then build up as you are aware it is being tolerated.I have been taking it for a month now and my skin is better than ever and I am sleeping much better too.. I think it is far less of a risk than chemical things such as movicol and many of the other pharma things.. Tracey Hi,Have been looking at Diatom since Tracey suggested it but am wary of trying it out because 1. isn't it abrasive on the colon?and 2. believe it acts as a chelator. Do you know anymore? The benefits of it sound great though - but not sure about it especially for long-term use. JanetTo: Autism-Biomedical-Europe From: greenkirsty1@... We love it in our house. Gives stomach cramps at first but you get over it. No need for any other laxative etc here Kirsty x > > I am hoping to start Harry on Diatom this week at a starting dose of half a teaspoon. Does anyone know when its best to give? Mine is on the way now, will try on me and NT's before Sam, though my gut is in worse shape than Sam's Mandi x It does sound too good to be true. Are there any long term studies showing safety?
