Posted by: " cec5_99 " cbissias@... cec5_99 Date: Thu Aug 10, 2006 11:58 am (PDT) Hi, So, I think possibly that I need a new starter. One of my brews has been brewing for 2 weeks and is still somewhat sweet. I purchased a scoby from herbalremedies.com and it was shipped to houston in the middle of the summer. Could that have killed it? The first batch sat for 10 days and was too sweet. I used the baby that my first batch made to make this second batch. After two weeks, it is still pretty sweet. The Scoby that it created is a little thin allover, not too thin though and kind of thick in some spots with big white lumps on top..? It also has stringy white looking things falling from the bottom side of the new scoby sitting on top, but I think this might be normal. What do you think? THANK YOU to everyone for your help!
