Guest guest
OK. people, Lets see if this posts! I keep thinking it won't and if it doesn't, I'll post individuals and ask them to post it here. I am sooooo not computer literate. This is the Washington conference in Feb. And caregivers are invited. You are supposee to be able to talk to the Big Guys that know about this disease. I will check this and if it doesn't get on, wait a minute and I will send it out until someone figures out how to get it here. LOL Donna R Do you want to read more about Lewy Body? Just in case you need the info for someone else, here is a complete article.... Caregivers and Patients Invited to Attend Major Event on LBD An international panel of clinical and scientific experts is meeting in Washington DC on February 21st and 22nd, 2006 to better understand the relationship between Lewy body dementia (also known as dementia with Lewy bodies or DLB), and Parkinson's disease with dementia (PDD). Patients and caregivers are invited to observe the presentations by the specialists, as well as attend breakout sessions specifically designed for discussion between lay audience members and select experts. Despite the growing base of knowledge on both diseases, disagreement exists between experts as to whether they are distinct and separate clinical entities, or represent a spectrum disorder. To define areas of agreement and controversy, the following topics will be addressed by experts in both diseases with the goal of reaching a unifying consensus: disease overviews, similarities and differences, epidemiology (causes and prevalence in society), biomarkers and treatment, cellular and molecular pathology, and genetics. The closing group session will bring all points of view together for a spirited attempt to bridge any gaps and to define those areas that need further debate and research. Detailed program, hotel and travel information can be found at http://www.pdd-dlbcrossroads.com. Registration for this event is free. Caregivers and patients can register for either one or both days of the symposium by contacting Dawn McHale at x2238 or by fax at or email at dawn.mchale@... with the following information: First/Last Name, Address Phone number NOTE: If the email bounces back it may be because the VA has not enlarged Dawn's email box yet, so they can keep trying to email or they can either call or fax. A month or so prior to the symposium, Dawn will send a registration confirmation letter. Caregivers and patients are encouraged to meet representatives of the LBDA during a casual lunch outing on the first day of the event. Contact the LBDA at events@... for details. The Symposium is a spin-off meeting from the World Parkinson Congress being held February 22-26, also at the Washington DC Convention Center. __________________________________________ Yahoo!
