Guest guest
The only famous people I have run into are Dennehey. I can't spell that correctly. He was in restaurant in Olympia, Washington. My kids did marketing for Stars on Ice for 4 years so I got signed pictures, books, programs and free tickets for five years running. They came home with the coolest pictures they took of the skaters, golfing, playing paint ball, playing volleyball on the beach. One of my sons was on y Hamilton's golf team and he came home with an autographed picture and special message from y. Kristi Yamaguchi sent me a birthday present book with an inscription. This Saturday I am going to a benefit dinner and I get to meet Jay Leno. I wasn't going to go because the tickets are $300 each and I am saving in case I have to self-pay for surgery. $600 for both of us would be a more than I would like to pay for that. Then some benefactor (unknown) paid for my tickets. I almost forgot I also got to see Neil Diamond. We got the red carpet treatment because my kids' boss is his tour marketing manager. Believe me when you have bad knees that was a god-send. They didn't even check my purse when I went through the doors. There was a three block line and everyone else got checked. I felt special for about 10 minutes. The kids have gone on tour with Earth, Wind, and Fire, Hooba Stank, Elvis Costello, and one of them is going on tour with Lincoln Park in April. I think those are all " teenybopper " bands. Marla in Denver
Guest guest
I grew up in a small Delta town called Walnut Grove, CA. Locke, Ca was about 2 miles from my home. Our town was a great place for movies to be filmed. I met Widmark, Powers, the man who is on Crossing Jordan (Jordan's dad) I was an extra in the movie Bound for Glory staring Ronnie and Carridine, met and worked with them. I wore a dress and a purse and I was not cut from the movie. I met Nicolas Cage in San Francisco. My Aunt who lives in Reno and is a hypnotist has met many stars over the years and sometimes we were lucky to be visiting when they were around. I am getting ready to take classes for comedy so I could be a star some day.... then we can say we met. Hope I didn't bore anyone. Kind regards, Kinsey with the prayers being answered here in Sacramento I was given more time to find a place to go

Guest guest
Ok... If we're bragging about famous people meetings, I have a couple... When I was in New York as a nanny, I met several stars. Except for one, they were going about their lives, being " regular " people, so I didn't bother them for autographs. The one exception was Robin . This was during the filming of The Fisher King. They had closed off our street and were filming nearby for over a week. One day I happened to spot Robin standing across the street, just watching Jeff Bridges film a scene, and no one even noticed him but me! I walked over nonchalantly, got his autograph and a photo and chatted for about 5 minutes before the crowd noticed and converged. He was extremely funny and sweet. And he has the hairiest arms and hands I've ever seen! My next fun one: At a party for a neighbor's three year old... I played ring-around-the-rosie with Glenn Close! And her daughter got chocolate ice cream all over her dress just like all the other kids. She was just being a " mommy " , so no autograph. And once I was eating at a restaurant with the best burgers in New York (The Hole, the one on Madison in the 90's). This place was so popular and busy at lunch that if a couple came in and there were no tables for two left, they'd sit you at a 4 seat table, and then the next couple would be sat next to you. Well, I'm sitting there with one of my nanny friends, and who should ask me to pass the pickles (big bowls of pickles on every table), but Mandy Patinkin! I was bumping elbows with Inigo Montoya! (The Princess Bride was my charge's favorite movie at the time... " Hello. My name is Inigo Monytoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die. " ) I, of course, spent the rest of my meal trying to NOT stare too openly! LOL! I did ask him to pass the salt and pepper, though. My most recent " brush with fame " (or the famous), was last August with Kristy in Sea World. She happened to spot a face she thought was familiar at the earlier seating of " Dinner with Shamu " . Yep, she was right... it was Chiklis from The Shield. She got his autograph and I remembered we had a camera with us just in time to snap a picture of them! He was very nice, especially since he was just being a 'dad', not a 'star'. Boy, does that Kristy have a good eye! I totally didn't think it was him until I got close, but she recognized him from quite a ways away. There have been others, especially since I live in So Cal. But these are the ones that stood out most. Huggles, Boobie Applechunks post-op Dr. Keshishian 06/04/02 424.5 lbs 68.4 bmi 03/11/03 267.0 lbs 43.1 bmi (9 months and -157.5 lbs!!!) Guest guest
Hi Tracey, Yes prayers do work! Thank you each and everyone of you for the kindness that you showed when I asked for prayers. I felt relieved knowing so many caring people were praying for me. I haven't had the opportunity to write everyone but I hope that you all will know that I am so greatful. I am here whenever anyone of you need an online hug or support in any way. Next........ When I met Carridine I was about 14, a tomboy and they made me wear this dress and have a purse over my shoulder. The part I was in was fun because was singing to the pear packers in the shed and one of my mentors kept laughing everytime walked by her. They kept yelling cut... But was making funny eyes at her too just to make her laugh. When they finished filming you could find Mr. Kung Foo under a shade tree meditating. Has anyone been told they look like a star? I was told about 7 years ago that I looked like the guy on sliders (that was when it first came out) I didn't think so but everybody kept saying it. My best to you all, Kinsey in Sacramento
Guest guest
Hello one and all. I just returned from Delano where I saw our beloved Dr. K, and visited the inmates. Judy/Judith/ or something like that from Ukiah is doing well. She was having some problems, but after she sat in the recliner, she was able to have a nice conversation. Her surgery was yesterday. She has already had " a huge bowel movement " to use her words. Beverly is doing remarkable. She is on oxygen and they are trying to get her blood sugar and blood pressure down. They went sky high after the surgery. In fact, while I was there she walked for the first time in a couple of days. She seemed to really appreciate the visit, and I was able to tell her about my friend Joanne who had the surgery and ALSO had sleep apnoea, which Beverly has. Joanne went off the machine in a few weeks after surgery. Beverly seemed to be very cheered up by that news. -- Pat, Beverly was very touched and THRILLED by the card you sent. The young girl...Sandy, or something like that, is doing really well! Dinking though a straw even, but discovered the evils of gas. She is also doing very well. She said not much pain at all. Her mom is really funny, too! She was treating everyone there like they were her children. Bobbed is doing GREAT. She is having muscle spasms in her back, which has made her very uncomfortable and she hasn't slept much. I told her to tell the nurse to call Dr. K. I barely had that out of my mouth when DR K walked by!! So, by the time I left, Bobbe was headed off for her date with Mr. Sandman. So, that's the news of the inmates who were awake and receptive to visits. As for my report, well, it is disappointing and disconcerting. I gained 1.4 pounds, but that was ok. Dr. K said " that's one good bowel movement. " But, my BMI is up TWO dang points! He was really concerned about that, and the fact that my skin is extra dry -- something the machine told him, and something that has nothing to do with the amount of hydration. Also, he questioned me at length about my tiredness. These things combined make him think my thyroid is messed up. He ordered blood work to see about that. He said he'd never seen a plateau this early in the game. I lost 40 pounds in 3 weeks and not another pound and it's been 3.7 months. So, he said if the thyroid isn't the culprit, then he will recommend a tummy tuck NOW. He said it could be that the body is just going for t he easiest fat to find and burn for energy, and not going after the fat that causes weight loss. Removing the apron will force the body to burn the " deep fat " , what ever that is, that is associated with weight loss. So there you have my whole depressing story. Then on top of that, I was talking with Joanne via cell phone, on the way home (talked for 65 minutes) and drove by all the gas stations!!!! I had to back track about 30 miles to Lost Hills or I'd be sitting by the side of the road wishing for one of our two Witches to materialize and give me gas... No, wait, I mean, put some PETROL in my car. LOL Jim

I've also seen Cinderella, Bon Jovi, Mannheim Steamroller, The Osmonds, and Poison in concert. And I've seen one of Copperfield's shows. Guest guest
Thank you Tracey, Things are getting better each day! My son got a job and is almost done with high school. I am very proud! Ann Margaret wow!!!! You will be told that again I bet. My partner, was once told she looked like Kathy Bates. Now we love this actress but I am sorry my honey did not look like Kathy Bates, maybe weight wise, but that's all. I just have the image of Kathy in that movie where she held the man captive... she was evil. Take care! Kinsey in Sacto
