Guest guest
Try L-Theanine, also known as Theanine to remove anxiety. It works wonders for some. It is avaiable at GNC and other places. --- IWorks wonders for somen mb12 valtrex , " Sally " wrote: > > Stan, Does MB12 do anything for anxiety alone? Guest guest
5HTP can also help with anxiety. This does sound like OCD to me though. My son has gone through phases of severe OCD symptoms (I now think it's due to strep in his gut - has your brother considered a stool analysis and a throat culture for your nephew?). We've used IP6 (inositol hexaphosphate - you need lots more myo-inositol) to treat OCD symptoms - 1500 mg/day. We use Jarrow brand. > > > > Stan, Does MB12 do anything for anxiety alone? Guest guest
If you watch the MB12 videos on my video site www.recoveryvideos.com the one thing every one of them have in common is a reduction in anxiety. If you are methylation impaired or MB12 deficient, it seems there is an anxiety connection. I would do a trial of MB12 for anxiety. Watch some of the videos and see for yourself. We also have a case of OCD and MB12 on video. It's called " Two Sisters. " Now OCD can be caused by many things, so MB12 is not a cure all for OCD, but it is worth a shot and if your child ever had strep, especially around the onset of the OCD you should do a strep panel and a PANDAS test. PANDAS is documented to cause OCD in certain cases. In summary: I would try MB12 (a strong suggestion) I would get a strep and PANDAS test I would consider getting a complete viral panel from Immunoscience .... and I would probably to an OATS or MAP test too. There is something going on and you should do some testing to see what you can find out. I would not just treat the symptoms, I would go all out and try to find the underlying cause and then try to get off the meds asap. That's what I would do for my child. - Stan > > Stan, Does MB12 do anything for anxiety alone? My 10 yr. old nephew > had anxiety set in about two months ago. Guest guest
When I see a need for 5HTP I think that a trial of MB12 should be first, because 5HTP (a precursor to triptophan) may just be covering up a need for methylation support like MB12. You need to methylate triptophan and serotonin and rather than try to alter the amounts of it, I personally think we should look at the methylation pathway since if triptophan and serotonin may be a problem caused my methylation impairment and if we have a methylation impairment we probably are having other chemical problems as well. I'm not knocking 5HTP or the suggestion at all...I would just consider ruling out methylation first because you might kill several birds with one stone. Just a thought. - Stan > > > > > > Stan, Does MB12 do anything for anxiety alone? My 10 yr. old > > nephew > > > had anxiety set in about two months ago. Guest guest
Stan, I would have to agree with your thoughts. My son started sleeping much better after several months of the MB-12 shots. Now I rotate the nasal spray and shots. - In mb12 valtrex , " Stan Kurtz " wrote: > > When I see a need for 5HTP I think that a trial of MB12 should be first, because 5HTP (a > precursor to triptophan) may just be covering up a need for methylation support like > MB12. Guest guest
Thanks for all the suggestions. I will pass them on. And yes, I've watched ALL the videos! I was Googling to see if I could figure out what the tests are that Stan recommended...but I figured others probably don't know either...so I'll just ask... What is a PANDAS test? an OATS test? and a MAP test? This boy has had more ear infections and antibotics than anyone I know. Could this be related to methylation or B12 issues? Guest guest
It sure could! You would be shocked to know how many chronic viral issues have to do with methylation impairment. It could also be related to metals and a smoldering virus in the gut too. - An OATS test comes from Great Plains - a MAP test if from either Doctors Data or Great Smokies... someone help me on that. - and a PANDAS test or commonly known as ASO and anti-DNAse B test (if my somewhat still impaired memory serves). These are mainstream tests. Talk to your doctor about it. - Stan > > > > > > Stan, Does MB12 do anything for anxiety alone? My 10 yr. old > nephew > > > had anxiety set in about two months ago. Guest guest
how long after you try mb12 would you know if it were helping? could it potentially do any harm? what if you are already on ssri's? should you still try it? Guest guest
I gave info on PANDAS to my brother. They had not heard of it. They are trying to get a strep test today. And I emailed info on the other tests you recommended as well as MB12. I'm sure it is all really overwhelming to them. They had a rough morning at their house. My sister-in-law went into my nephews room and found him on the floor in a fetal position. I'll keep you all posted. Thanks for helping me make sure no stone goes unturned. Guest guest
I feel for your family Sally. The tests are quite standard and important in my opinion. I hope they run them. Good luck. - Stan > > > > and please keep us posted. > > >
