Hi Lori, and ((((HUGS)))) to you.

I don't know that I have any good suggestions for you, but I wanted

you to know I so understand where you are and what you're going

through. My daughter, Anne, 13, missed about 8 days of school

earlier this quarter with newly diagnosed diabetes (on top of her

OCD and recently diagnosed inattentive ADHD, the latter of which

they are not aware). I have struggled on a daily basis to get

homework assignments; to get nonessential work forgiven; to get in-

class reminders of which work still needs to be done; etc. The

quarter ended last week, and we have been on a much needed spring

break. I'm looking forward to starting fresh for this last quarter

of school.

Two thoughts come to my mind...do your daughter's teachers have

email? I have found this to be my most effective way of

communicating with my daughter's instructors. I can keep copies of

the communication, as well. Also, is there a good in-school

advocate for your daughter? I would be lost without my daughter's

guidance counselor. She will pick up where my emails leave off...if

a teacher does not respond, she has then contacted them for me

(I 'cc' the emails to the teachers to the guidance counselor as

well).

I am so sorry for your struggles right now. Neither you nor your

daughter deserve this added burden. I will keep you in my thoughts

and prayers. Keep us posted-

Blessings-

(Ohio)

Who is the IEP case manager? I would get in touch with that person

ASAP and let him/her run the interference for you. If this is

ineffective, I'd send another letter to the teacher, with a copy to the

principal (and superintendent if needed) saying:

" As you are aware, X's IEP states -----------. I realize that you are

very busy, and appreciate you following her IEP. If there is something

about X's IEP which you don't understand, or a particular reason that

you don't intend to follow her IEP, please notify me in writing so that

I can take steps to correct this problem. Otherwise, I expect to

receive ------------------ "
