Guest guest
Klebsiella pneumoniae is among the most common gram-negative bacteria of hospital-acquired pathogen, causing urinary tract infections, nosocomial pneumonia, and intraabdominal infections. http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/eid/vol8no2/01-0025.htm A properly made Kombucha Tea [33 g/L total acid (7 g/L acetic acid) ph = 3.0 or less] may be protected from possible contamination of this pathogen but ounce inside the GI tract KT may not be considered an " antibiotic " . KT is a probiotic. The notion is that probiotics (pro= in favor of/ biotic = life) like kombucha tea, kefir, yogurts, sauerkrauts, pickles, etc ...work by establishing the presence of the good guys who do not directly kill the bad guys (Klebsiella, Candida, H Polia, etc) but do make life difficult for them. They are starved and suppressed and an environment hostile to their reproduction is created. Over time the body's digestive tract catches and eliminates them. the CDC summary: In summary, our results challenge the classic view of serious Klebsiella infections. In the United States, Europe, Argentina, and Australia, we have observed that hospital-acquired K. pneumoniae infections predominate, with community-acquired bacteremia being caused by urinary tract infection, vascular catheter infection, and cholangitis. Classic community-acquired pneumonia is no longer an important entity in these regions. In South Africa, pneumonia (especially in alcoholics) continues to be an important community-acquired infection. In Taiwan, community-acquired pneumonia persists, and distinctive infections such as liver abscess, endophthalmitis, and meningitis have emerged as substantial public health problems. of course there is ..... Are the Klebsiella friendly bacteria or the bad guys? Thanks in advance for all wisdom. geo
