Hi guys,

I have created a post here on the SS.org website, its about apartment living and how some people have found they could or could not deal with the situation and how they overcame noise problems. If you find the time, would you be able to post some of your stories like you did below on there too :)

Some great informaiton, I have to re think about apartment living after this post and a few others I read in the past .

Cheers

We have this little ceramic heater for thawing frozen pipes which is basically a fan with heat. I can sit it up on the desk and be soothed and warmed. But I had to give it up to the neighbor whose pipes are freezing, doggone it and I am really jonesing for that fan now.

Thanks Tammy for the suggestion. I do have a fan and use it sometimes. Lately here it is freezing and it's all I can do to keep warm! When the weather warms up though I will use them again . .

It may help to file a complaint with the apartment manager as well. Are there rules in your lease as to " quiet hours " ? When I was in an apartment, the quiet hours were between 10pm and 8am. Of course, people were asked to keep their music/partying at a minimum noise level at all times out of respect. If the manager found out about tenants breaking this rule it was 3 strikes... your out. I'd rather it be one strike (ha ha ha) but I was at least happy the manager was on top of things. Hope the situation gets better for you!!

>> i just moved into a new apt. last month, dec. and 'thought' my 3rd floor apt. would be good, so far, a few noises and last night was actually peaceful but at 7:30 this a.m., i was awakened even with earplugs in. my floor pounding, i said 'w.t.f.' and it is now, over an hour later, i got up, so frustrated, i stomped on the floor but it hurt my foot so i got a hammer and hit the floor many more times but the music seemed to only get LOUDER, i was so frustrated, i finally decided to call the sherrifs office, even as she said we can send some one out, i felt really nervous about it but 'i think i have rights'

> so.... it is almost 9 a.m. now, i am really wondering why no one else in this bldng. thinks it's NOT NORMAL to be foreced to hear this guys music, maybe they're afraid of him??? i can 'feel' my floor pounding. i 'heard' this guy is moving, if he doesn't and this continues, there's no way i can stay here like this. i am so upset, i'm 'shaking'... ......... donnie
