Guest guest
You know, the DAN folks have plenty of anecdotal stories of the children on their protocol doing well and some even losing their autism diagnosis. Anecdotal stories aside, I wonder if the and the DAN folk have any numbers to show the efficacy of each treatment. My big concern about the protocol is that it appears to ignore the mercury poisoning and the necessity for getting the metal out. It seems that there is a huge emphasis on the different meds to alleviate various medical symptoms but not very much on actually removing this possible cause. It may not be the cause in all cases of autism (or the myriad of other autoimmune diseases) but it is a factor in a number of cases and that seems to be being ignored. So does anyone know of any hard numbers on either side of this debate to assess which side is doing a better job of helping the kids? Guest guest
What intrigues me is why is DAN so easily available and the norm of our kids versus ? Why are our kids being subjected to anything being thrown at them to figer it out when we do the know the cause in ? Why hasn't become as popular as DAN? Why id DAN protocol so easily available to medical practioners and not ? Why are not more doctors available to do the protocol, why is it still not available in every state even after being around for 20 or more years? Why hasn't Dr G trained other doctors to help children of this mass amount so we can solve this epidemic? Why don't we have immune modulators for our children? Why isn't it available for our dear children/ If we are passionate about this cause then we should be willing to share to help mankind. I admire Dr G sooo much and want the best for our children. regard to all Kavita
Guest guest
Hi, . Welcome to the group. Two good sources of information are www.stopcallingitautism.com and neuroimmunedr.com. The protocol is largely based on lab results and parental observation. The theory behind is that our children have an immune dysregulation that causes widespread inflammation in the body and in the brain. In addition, these children usually have pretty heavy viral loads, namely HHV 6, which can affect the brain. Chelation is not part of the program. Unless someone has had acute exposure to a heavy metal, the immune system is designed to rid the body of these toxins; however, if the immune system isn't working properly, it cannot perform this function. When the immune system's health is restored, it should be able to effectively eliminate heavy metals from the body. In a nutshell, this protocol is comprised of diet, antivirals, antifungals, and in many cases, very low doses of SSRIs. I hope this helps. We have experienced tremendous success with with our three boys that years of supplements could not achieve. So far we have tried GFCF diet, various vitamin/minerals, b12 shots, yeast treatment, valtrex, LDN. Unfortunately , no or little improvement with everything we tried. My questions is how is different from typical DAN protocol? Is it mainly basied on Lab results? I noticed nobody is talking about chelation here, so I guess chelation is not part of ? thanks
