Guest guest
ECI programs can be very good for those young ones. I would ask the teacher to build in some ethics into her teaching...you know, respect to those who are different etc. Then try ECI. Adam has a good idea about checking often to see how your child is doing. Is the program right for him? You can tell after watching a few times. Then you can consider home schooling later on if you want to depending on how well he does in the school and if it is a good school environment. Here in the San area there are a few charter schools where many of those with autism go. That is an option to consider later on. I am hoping that what Adam experienced will be an exception and not the norm...but I understand how he must feel. If you don't teach respect to children then they will pick up bullying techniques from other children because children like to be followers of the leader.
