Guest guest
Well, speaking from a purely apologetic stance, if you are Christian, check out the other NT (The New Testament) where has a vision: (Forgive me any mistakes in quoting chapter and verse, I don't do a lot of biblical quotation:) Acts 10:9-15 In my text (NIV) it says briefly " Do not call anything impure that God has made clean. " But read the whole quotation so that you can see for yourself that I am not quoting anything out of context. I'm going to give God credit that S/He is smart enough to realize that there are differences in ethnic tolerance to foods. Differing succeptibility to lactose intolerance, for example. The Jews were original a desert people (read that " ethnically middle eastern " ) and it's highly possible that they had known intolerances to certain foods. When the new covenant was made between Christ and all people of the world God made -- S/He knew that the different ethnicities of the gentiles had different food tolerances and intolerances than the relatively limited genetic ethnicity of the Jews, so God let know so that the people (especially the new converts) could use common sense to choose from more kinds of foods to nourish themselves wisely in the wide ranging places S/He was asking them to go to spread the gospel.
