Well you may be asking the wrong person as I am an audiologist so naturally my entire focus tends to be auditory.

There is info, look in the archives as the over sensitized system will commonly reactin ALL the sensory modes, touch, taste, smell, vision, hearing.

I see this commonly in the clinic, but again, I am not a vision therapist.

Side effects vary from person to person, and this is a highly individual-dependent decision, that needs to be made by the person and their medical providers!

I personally think that folks who are sensitive across the board are bornthat way, it's the way we are wired. That's no scientific fact, just my ownobservation about me and others...Jane

I disagree. Most of the people I have worked with have been very clear about the fact that SSSS came on at a particular point. They were not 'born' that way.

Marsha, After reading your post about the women whose symptoms

disappeared after using the drug imipramine, I am curios as to whether

or not she had the visual irritation too or just the noise.

It seems as though most everyone in this group speak mainly about the

noise irritants above all. My symptoms are visual AND noise related and

are both to the same degree in the feelings and reaction. I read the

files and didnt see info on therapy/treatment for the visual part. Any

help for those of us who suffer from both or has that not been explored

yet?

I really wouldn't myself get involved in this drug. I know it sounds like it

works but as I said a few weeks ago and I'm sorry to to rehash it, I do

apologize, when I saw the side effects in my pharmaceutical book, the side

effects, for me, would not be worth it. Too, I don't know if this fits into

the anti-depressant world of drugs, I can't remember, but everything I've

read about sound sensitivity seems to be aggravated by so many drugs and

this class of drugs, the anti-depressants, are one of them.

Again, just my viewpoint and please do forgive me for possibly overstepping

any boundaries. I just woudn't feel comfortable if I didn't say it before I

sign off soon.

Thank you for listening!

well, as I say, it's just my own observation. For me, at least, I think I

notice everyone in our maternal side of our family is sensitive but we seem

to get more so that way and as you say, with certain occurrences.

Interesting stuff, eh? Thanks Marsha!
