Hello, I have some questions, maybe you can give me an answer as I am very concerned about my sexual mood. I took citalopram 20 mg/day from ratiopharm (Germany) in december 2011 for about 4-5 weeks. After two days of the medication my sexuality was completely gone, and I had never problems with my sexuality before the medication. Because of the side effects from the medication I stopped it after a period of 2 weeks. After the quitting of the medication I was really hoping that my sexuality will come back, but I suffer till now from a sexual dysfunction caused from citalopram. Now my question: how long does it take that my sexuality will come back, I am very frustrated about it. I also googled PSSD but I can't hardly find something about it in the internet. What can I do to get my sexuality back, are there any medications and what side effects does these have? I also took in the year 2007 citalopram from another manufacturer it was called citalopram biomo 20mg. During the medication I had also less sexuality, but after quitting the medication after 2-3 months my sexual drive came back. I can not understand that it takes now so long, and I am afraid that it will last forever, I am only 27 and can not accept that! I hope you can give my some hopeless information about the prognosis of pssd. Thank you and greetings from Germany.

We've had a couple post good success in taking 18 grams of Inositol daily for

several weeks, and I personally advise considering 2 grams daily of Citicholine

(not to be confused with citicholine). Citicholine is a synthetic chemical that

passes the blood brain barrier, and helps to restore the brain back to normal

functioning after stroke, injury, drug abuse, or cognitive impairment.

Little is known of citicholine's effects on victims of PSSD, although it is

known to take 1-2 months to reduce cravings in cocaine and methamphetamine

addicts, so it may require some patience.

I would try the Inositol-- anyone know what source of Inositol was used by the

successful poster? I'm getting my husband that and citicholine-- in the U.S.,

thankfully, citicholine doesn't require a prescription. Inositol doesn't

either-- it's just a carbohydrate.

I'm not a natural foods person-- Inositol and citicholine are serious

supplements, and deserve respect. Citicholine is also given by researchers for

cognitive impairment caused by schizophrenia right now.

If anyone can advise of the best Inositol source, as there are different sources

of Inositol, I would greatly appreciate it.

If you're trying to save money, I've read the blood plasma research, and

basically, you can get most of the effects from citicholine by taking 500mg

daily, although it doesn't quite plateau all the way until 2grams a day.

Good luck, and if you have success from anything, please don't be a stranger to

this board-- we need success stories just as we need pleas for help!

Kennedy
