Guest guest
We thank you too Steve. Everyone does better with others who understand. They say it takes a community to raise a child but I say it takes a community to do anything worthwhile and that includes encouragement and support in hard times, whatever they may be. Guest guest
Thanks to the group is not even enough to start. I am amazed at the amount of support from this group and even more so about the genuine support of each other. It is one thing to join a group and support the namesake, but over the months it really has become clear to me that the group has become a community of nurturing people. I have read posts and seen replies that really does reflect the element of human caring that I was surprised to find on the road. You are the people that have saved me from myself and I am greatful to have a small part in bringing you all to a forum where you can continue to help others. Thanks Steve
Guest guest
Steve, We thank you! You have inspired us all to start/keep walking and think about our health, both physical and emotional. I can't wait to hear what you get up to next, so please check in with us and keep your journal going on your website! Will you be taking a break from walking? Guest guest
Dear Steve, Please do not think that in this country we do not need our heroes when it comes to weight loss and fighting depression, please talk to someone regarding a book or something else (reality tv etc..) to document your struggle. We need real life heroes. I am sorry about your marriage. Please be determined to not let this effect your goals. I need to you to overcome this horrible cycle, as much as I need to overcome it as well. You did something dramatic, like something we all want to do, so go for the gusto. You have our attention all over the world. Sincerely, Lancaster Mesa Arizona Vaught wrote: Thanks to the group is not even enough to start. Guest guest
Hi Steve and dear friends, My name is Anand and I live in RI. I came to know about Steve's walking from a local Indian news paper website after he reached NY ( Steve is an international hero!). Now that I am going though his journals, I realise that I missed big time not knowing about his trip earlier when it was live. I was very surprised to see the web site commercial free and happy that he could maintain his genuinity and goal throug out the trip despite the pressure from the wild commercial people out there. If I had known it earlier, I would have defenitely seen the "fatman walking" in realtime some where! Steve, you could have made it to Boston! With all regards and best wishes Anand Puravangara Re: Thanks to the groupWe love you, Steve. And we love this group. I just found this group this week and I have spent the majority of it reading all of your journals. I only wish I had known about you and your trek earlier, but I do want you to know that your words and discoveries have meant a lot and I think you are an extraordinary individual with a lot more to offer in the days to come. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and, in doing so, enriching a lot of our lives as well.
Guest guest
Yes and no.. I moderate the site entirely myself and it is set to moderate all NEW members. I try to keep out the profanity, weirdo's, spammers and those who attack Steve's family. (there is a difference between discussing and ripping) I do try to unmoderate those who post often but I have fallen behind because of all of the new members joining. I think we have had over 100 join in just the past couple of days. I am always here Also feel free to email me off list anytime you have any questions Hugs, in Texas (TnT) Give yourself a real pay raise. GET OUT OF DEBT! Guest guest
I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed reading about this journey. I really wanted to come to NYC to see you finish this part of your journey but the time and finances just weren't there. You have been a wonderful inspiration to all of us in the group who for one reason or another have found a certain truth in the words you have shared with us. No, your story doesn't move everyone the same way but your efforts to be transparent and willingness to share with us the good, bad and ugly has been a refreshing change from the norm. Not only am I very proud to know what I do of you, I especially respect the integrity you have displayed throughout. There were easier ways to lose weight but you chose something difficult. There were easier ways to make this journey by allowing some big shot company to back you and you say some partial truths but you stood firm and didn't sell out. Thanks for being unique and real and approachable. I wish you much success on all future journeys be they physical, spiritual or emotional!!!!!!!!!!! Blessings :-) Griffmom in Indy
