Guest guest
pulling nails is definitely a workout. in myfooddiary.com you count all kinds of activity towards exercise. it's all about moving and what uses the food you ate. so doing housework for 2 hours will count toward about 200 calories burned and i count it (i'm moving). one good thing is that walking and housework come out about the same, so it actually gives me incentive to clean (i need it) :-). katherine, do you live in denmark? i have some very good friends there. i loved visiting. beautiful place and very friendly. when i stayed with one of my friends we walked almost 2 miles everyday just to get in and out of the downtown. there are wonderful walking/biking paths all over. my other friend though lives out in the country and lives a more americanized life of driving in and out of town. where do you live? when i was in denmark i lost 9 pounds from all the walking. of course as soon as i got back into the U.S. i drove the 3 blocks to the pharmacy to get my film developed. since then i've forbidden myself from any drive that short and make myself walk most everywhere. :-) susan, dc

Guest guest
Laurie.. I hope you aren't too sore today. I overdid it the other day and sat around too much the next day- feeling sorry for myself. BOY was that a mistake !! I am trying to be moderate in my exercise now...and to do a little something every day...alternating cardio and strength training. Hang in there ! Guest guest
well i'm not sore yet, but I came down sick again. I guess standing out in the cold for a couple hours after being sick was just too much. only my throat is bad right now, i'm debating taking the antibiotics i was given just in case. i really dont want to take them, but this ongoing throat infection has gone beyond aggravating. i've had non stop throat infections since christmas. i got some herbals from the naturopath, but i dont think they're working, i'll give it a couple more days. any have any suggestions for throat infections? Maggie, thanks for checking on me. I didnt get much excercise in today, but I didnt eat too badly. A bowl of cereal, a very small piece of cake, a whole grain healthy sandwhich and salad & fish. but i was bad and had some of the onion rings. but I dont think i went over my 1600 calorie goal. i looked up my weight loss schedule on spark people and I can do 1600 calories a day and lose weight as long as I get some excercise 3 times a week. i was pretty happy. i'm no good at keeping at a 1200 calorie diet. I just wont lose the weight quite as fast, which is fine with me. Fast weight loss gives you flabbier skin. oh and i had my cholestorol checked and it came back normal instead of almost high. I was just under the border the time before. sorry i dont have the numbers, i lost the paper. I stopped eating transfats (hydrogenated oils) and it did the trick. laurie laurie > > Laurie.. > I hope you aren't too sore today. Laurie: Good morning, I am sorry you are a bit under the weather. I hope you don't need the antibiotics but here is a caution if you do. Once you start, finish the whole course whether or not you feel like you need it. Start immediately to eating things like cultered sourkraut, cultered yogurt, cottage cheese and buttermilk. Continue this for at least two weeks after completing the antibiotice. Even better would be taking probiotic supplements. Most antibiotics are not selective. They kill good bacteria while killing the bad. You have my get well wishes and I'm hopeing you have a very good holiday week end. Guest guest
my mother is a naturalist and i've heard the speal since I was 3 years old... thanks though, i'll bet it will be 'new' to a few people and hopefully help someone else. i hate taking antibiotics, after I take them I always develop a new food intolerance. even with eating the yogurt and the probiotic supplements. i really want to wake up tomorrow morning and be able to swallow without pain! laurie > > > In a message dated 4/14/2006 10:55:40 PM Central Standard Time, > spamthekat@... writes: > > only my throat is bad right now, i'm debating taking the antibiotics i > was given just in case. i really dont want to take them, but this > ongoing throat infection has gone beyond aggravating. > > > > Laurie: Good morning, I am sorry you are a bit under the weather.
