Guest guest
i used to always by cold, i wonder if that is a symptom of iodinedificiency? i think i will try that iodine test... Laurie This is one symptom. Before I took the iodine test and started taking Iosil I would some time wake up at night feeling like I was freezing to death while Sondy was still comfortable. Guest guest
I like to put a couple tablespoons of low fat cottage cheese on my salad...it is as good as dressing, tastes good, and give me a nice bit of protein. Jane
Guest guest
Speaking of Salt lol, one day my daughter and I were having salads for lunch...I grabbed the salad dressing, she grabbed the salt...I thought to myself, how yucky that must taste, a salad with only salt & no dressing...well, a few days later I was fixing a salad for myself & the dressing was gone & I hadn't gotten any at the store, thinking I still had some, Soooo, I tried it with just salt and OMG...I just loved it...I eat that way now on purpose lol...salad dressing is getting to cost to much anyway lol. Had a salad for lunch today and mmmm, boy was it good!!! lol. Jeanne

Guest guest
In my case, when my parents were still living (I was living with them) my mother due to her health problems was put on a salt free dite. Although we live in New Orleans with quite a bit of spicy foods, because of the salt restrictions I now rarely use salt & with the Iodine comments earlier will check my Iodine as soon as I can go to the store to get some. Guest guest
Jeanne, With respect to trying & enjoying the salad with salt instead of salad dressing why not try it with neither. Guest guest
I once participated in a diet study in which we could only have vinegar on our salads. We used differently favored vinegars and it was surprising how good it could be. I think I used garlic-flavored wine vinegar and liked it. There's little or no calories in vinegar and I think there's some health benefits, esp in cider vinegar. So this may be a good alternative for those who need something on their salads. I also found if the salad and/or dressing is cold, it tastes better.
