Cast you out? Hardly, folks cast theirself out of here of their own free will, out of boredom sometimes, which I noted in your previous posts was one of your biggest complaints, (been there done that, etc), but its been so long since we've heard from you that I now forget what all the others might be. Cheryl and some others did ask you to share a story or two with the folks here but you seem to have ignored them and I even hinted such to you in my post about the Horned Toad's cousin down under, the Bearded Dragon or Moloch Horendis if you will recall. As I see it, things are share and share alike around here, so what is it you've got on your mind besides disdain for cults of the Goddess whatnot? BTW Gene Baker, how bout those Texas Christian University Horny Toads beating our East Carolina University Pirates in college football last week. Pretty Good game eh? To elucidate your question yesterday, I meant that folks here should speak their minds on whatever topic has their genuine personal interest, and not just for the sake of conversation or small talk as it were. Let me know when your Tequila bottle gets empty, I'm still nursing the one I got at the Puppy trucker gathering before we came here to this new place. Slow and easy for sure! Guest guest
Well Mr. Mutt ...speak for yourself and please mind your overly presumptuous use of *we*. Tall tales indeed!! My only question to the group about this group here: has it become a clique or a cliché? All things considered, I think it will be best if I keep my stories for others. I am " getting lost " you see. Which is precisely what you asked me to do in your first post. It has just taken a little time for me to get the sense of things around here and to recognise the value of that initial suggestion. By the way - thankyou for your extraordinarily intelligent and in-depth reply to my post. It shows most eloquently why I need say nothing further on the subject. rgh
Guest guest
Dear Mutt, Thank you for your input on this JUNG-FIRE list where we really have been having to deal with problematics... You speak so eloquently, as well as delight my " funny bone " ... I'm so grateful you hang in there and keep on keeping on!! Jungian matters are of highest value to me and that seems to be unlimited in interests and concerns. Love and blessings... Happy New Endings and Beginings... Guest guest
Lissa You say: >My only question to the group about this group here: >>has it become a clique or a cliché? *Is this a QUESTION (as in 'HAS it become a clique or a cliché') or a choice between two predetermined alternatives (as in 'has it become a CLIQUE or has it become a CLICHE')? As to an answer, if you mean the first, I would say: it will become whatever we are capable of making it. If it's the second you mean, I would say: it has become whatever it seems to each and everyone, but nothing in any absolute sense... It still contains (in my view and the view of some of the rest of us) much potential... However, I grant you, cliques and clichés are by no means excluded. What would YOU like it to be? m
Guest guest
Hi, Mutt, In a message dated 00-01-01 08:48:05 EST, you write: << BTW Gene Baker, how bout those Texas Christian University Horny Toads beating our East Carolina University Pirates in college football last week. Slow and easy for sure! >> Everybody seems to have seen the game but me. I think I was still catching up on my sleep. I don't remember asking a question, but maybe it was the quava jelly. Would you repeat it for me? Sounds like a good one. I did turn on the t-v to catch some of the world celebration, and there really was a feeling of community there. I was watching ABC, and caught the Eiffel Tower fireworks show. I must say that I have never seen anything as spectacular, so it must have been a tremendous experience to have been there. I wouldn't have been surprised if the Eiffel had taken off for Mars. It would undoubtedl have made a better landing than NASA. Will this be the century in which Jung will be given long shrift? After all, we will be looking forward rather than backward now- Jung prospects even as Freud regresses. Speaking of puppy truckers or is is yuppy truckers, at Texas Stadium they're letting people barbecue off their pick-em-ups again. I have some parishoners that went out after church and did just that- partied all afternoon with all the other folks out there. Now, that's the part I like. I would have skipped the Cowboys game. After all the preparations for Y-2-K I made, on Saturday morning my computer declared it was June 1, 1980. 'Nuff this personal stuff. Guest guest
Hi Gene: <<Will this be the century in which Jung will be given long shrift? After all, we will be looking forward rather than backward now- Jung prospects even as Freud regresses.>> I flicked on the tv for a brief moment and caught one of those think-tank, talking head shows this afternoon on this very topic. Freud, according to these pundits is a has-been, since chemistry and pharmaceuticals can now be used to control the unconscious. Seems that Jung and Jungians will come into prominence by using the concept of the collective unconscious as a means for explaining to the world the phenomenon of the INTERNET!! Nice to hear Jung talked about in mainstream tv-land other than as a mystic. Regards, Frances
