Guest guest
Hey you guys I'm in Southern Cali, and it's not all that bad. )) It's not brown all year round. There are many fruit trees all around. But the water is pretty yucky. Can't say much in defense of our water.
Guest guest
Ahhh! Alison you are making me hungry! Hungry not only for good, real food, but for the companionship of others who, like myself, are tired of the faux food offered in the traditional grocery. What you say now may only be a dream. And we may not get all that we dream of. But if we don't dream we will never have anything. Judith Alta Kidder Mission Possible Southwest Michigan jaltak@... -----Original Message----- From: Alison [mailto:ackermurphy@...] -, ALL the time! But they are just that- dreams. Right now I am raising small children and have no saving or income aside from what my dh brings home. I dream that perhaps when the children are older we'll do something like that- hey, built in staff! I've imagined SO many different scenarios. My ideal location I think would be near Atlanta, Georgia- they have some CSA's there and I think the raw milk laws are less restrictive in GA if I'm not mistaken. And it's not TOO far from shipping and the Coast to get fresh seafood at an affordable price. I personally just don't like California all that much- it's so BROWN. ) And the drinking water is all yucky.

In defense of CA - the southern half of the state is indeed brown most of the time, and many populous areas have yucky water, but here in Northern CA it's not like that. I live in the Sierra foothills, the Mother Lode, in a rural area. My tap water is quite good (it comes from a nearby town, but many people around here also have wells which produce good water), I filter it to remove the traces of chlorine but it analyzes as very clean and it's not bad tasting at all. Un-irrigated grass turns brown in the dry heat of the summer, but there are many green trees, and I personally think this is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. The springtime here takes my breath away, it's so lovely. I just didn't want anyone thinking CA is all brown and yucky! Many people who've been to Southern CA think the whole state is like that, but we're really a very diverse state, from desert to rainforest, ocean to plains to rolling oak woodlands to alpine high mountains. Your ideas for the restaurant and community market are fantastic! Aubin __________________________________________________
