Guest guest Posted July 22, 2001 Report Share Posted July 22, 2001 Sourdough Biscuits 2 cups sponge 1 cup flour 1 Tbs sucanat or honey 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp baking soda 2 Tbs butter, melted Put sponge into bowl. Mix together flour, sugar, salt, and baking soda. Add to sponge and mix very briefly. Turn onto a floured board and knead briefly, until the dough is soft and barely sticky. Add additional flour if needed. Using a floured rolling oin or your hands, roll or pat the dough to a thickness of about 1/2 inch, and cut biscuits with a biscuit cutter. Place on a baking sheet close together, and brush tops with melted butter. Proof covered. Preheat oven to 375* Bake for 20-25 minutes.
