Have you tested your son for precocious puberty? Certain ASD treatments (MB12, chelation ...) will not work if testosterone levels are too high.marybornstein wrote: My son completed 41 days of Valtrex (given three times per day 1000 mg). He just turned five. He had major language and interaction regression so I was certain it would make a difference, but at day 41 no positive changes at all so stopped. My question is that his titers have shown herpes so why didn't he respond? He was

also on Diflucan and then Nizoral and oil of oregano for bacteria. Only other complication is that I had the Valtrex compounded and it had a blue tint. What will the blue dye do to the results? I just want to know whether to cross this treatment off my list or know that I should revisit it later. Cameron has many gut issues but has been SCD for 15 months. Thanks for any insight.

Dyes make my kids CRAZY, very hyper and low functioning. Has your son had dyes in medications or foods before? Just a thought.

Ditto!! Food dyes were the 1st

thing I noticed my son couldn’t handle after the MMR. My compounding pharmacy

said there was no was to get diflucan without any dye in it. Just a slight

amount of pink. But I know that was why it did not work after a strict month

at all for my son. -

I didn't specifically test for precocious puberty because I've never heard of it, but I'm certain that in his test results from somewhere he had high testosterone because I remember thinking that was weird. I will go and look through all testing. What do I do about it?

We usually get everything compounded SCD (sugar free) and I assume dye free because there isn't anything in it. Since being SCD he eats such limited processed food maybe dyes were making him crazy. Thanks for info.

Our compounder has always been able to make up a dye-free form of

diflucan, but if the child's not responding, it may not be effective

against the particular strain of yeast. A CDSA may be required to

identify the strain so it can be targeted. A rotating course of

antifungals can help with various strains if you have several or if

you don't know which one to target.

, My advice is to first listen to the Geiers: http://www.autismmedia.org/media4.html Next, get him tested again to verify. Prior to testing, take him off of other ASD treatments like MB12 for about 2-3 weeks. If he does have high testosterone, then mainstream medicines treatment is Lupron. Other than that, Diflucan and Nizoral have been known to reduce testosterone -- but not all that effectively. If you are already using Diflucan or Nizoral and see no benefits, you may have to consider the Lupron. I personally do not know of natural ways to effectively reduce testosterone.borno35@... wrote: I didn't specifically test for precocious puberty because I've never heard of it, but I'm certain that in his test results from somewhere he had high testosterone because I remember thinking that was weird.
