I review the Liver meeting agenda and verify

if the patients have insurance, and then if they have benefits to come here.

For Renal, I am sent the referral sheets and review the insurance then. When

there is a problem I alert the appropriate coordinator.

I keep a spread sheet of all of our tx candidates. The spread sheet has their

ins and prior auth (with expiration dates) info on it. This way I can easily

tell who needs re-certification.

I do. We have tele so all the insurance

info is there. Then I have this spreadsheet which I update daily based on their

Meld score, and to change anyone who is made Status 7. The spreadsheet also

indicates if their auth is pending or complete, and the renewal date, or if no aut

is required. This is a master file, so that all our listed patients can be

reviewed at a glance to see where our top patients are, and I review it periodically

w/the nurse's so if I'm having difficulty obtaining an auth due to lack

of labs, etc, she can then make a decision to Status 7 patient pending their compliance

and/or work up.

I being the TFC are responsible for review and tracking of the pre patients. I

copy out CAD list and use this for re-verification of coverage, have auth's

marked to renew on calendar. Referrals are given to the TFC first to obtain

authorizations and verify any limit in coverage or rx coverage

I just put the spreadsheet together on Excel and copy and pasted the

patients from UNOS. Now I just add the new patients manually, and update

everything else. At first, because I'm far from being a computer whiz, I

hated the project. I had only been doing this job for a couple of months

when I started it. Then once I worked all the bugs out I love it. It's

actually helped me to understand the process, and to get to know our

Patients.
