I haven't tried the DVDs yet. Am afraid of the same reaction Jim

described -- total engrossment in the video to the point where he

doesn't notice the feedback.

, thanks for the suggestion regarding training EC. We were able to

do some coherance training by eliminating the spectrograms from the

display. I think he would do fine with eyes closed, but would probably

be a bit bored. We are currently focusing more on the SMR up/Theta

down training to see if we can see a noticible difference in his ability

to stay on task at school. We also started some HEG training, which he

likes and he can do by himself standalone with the Pocket.

Hi Tony --

We haven't used any special videos. My son sits still for the training

for the most part (except when the display triggers his funny bone). He

is 9 and is really into the scientific aspect of the whole thing, and

asks a lot of questions about the training. So far we have only used

the pacman, mousetrap and robot video clips. He seems to do better just

watching the threshold bars and competing against himself to better his

score, or to reduce the time it takes to complete a single mousetrap

circuit. Once the novelty wears off, I will probably try the free trial

of InnerTube to remotivate him, and if it works, it we may puchase that.

If you add a Trend to the design SMR design (amplitudes out of each bandpass filter into the channels of the trend) you can get an idea as to what each of the frequencies are doing while they are watching the DVD. I am sure everyone is different but I have found that the theta and hibeta drop very nicely while watching a session and actually do better than when not watching a DVD.

I prefer to do stand alone HEG over HEG with BE as well.

Speaking of HEG, I thought I would mention that I'm getting increased results at all head sites when I do nIR HEG at the same sites as the EEG, i.e. F1, P3, C4, T6, etc. And YES you need very short hair.

One problem I still have is reversed Peak Alpha EC/EO. Peak Alpha goes nicely UP EO and plummets EC. Anyone will to share how to change this? Thanks!

I have not noticed this as a problem except with one or two kids.

For them I set up a midi object with the phone ringing sound and have

it play when thresholds are not met. That has reoriented their

attention to the training process. I set the brightness and sound

properties so that the dvd is barely visible/audible when thresholds

are not met. That has generally been very successful.

Larry It is actually quite interesting how many people now adore ny Depp, he has become a favourite since Pirates, must go and get 'Charlie' now on your recommendation! I also find many adults love the Goodies, but my personal favourite is "The Incredibles"! :-) Pacman

Pacman,I like the Incredibles also. ny Depp plays some unusual parts in most of his movies. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was perfect for him. ny Depp was absolutely great in What's Eating Gilbert Grape as well as Leo Di Caprio playing an autistic teen. Although this thread is a bit off topic, I will go on record as a ny Depp fan, too. Except for Libertine, I have enjoyed him all the way back to Scissorhands. However, my overall favorite is Secret Window.

I think we need more great suggestions for DVD's, I have never heard of this movie, "What's Eating Gilbert Grape", now thats another I have got to find! Pacman
