Guest guest
Currently reading a book called 'The Mindmap Book' by Tony Buzan with Barry Buzan. The below exercise is one I have just done and proved very interesting if anyone would like to have a go. I will explain the conclusions of the exercise later (maybe in a day or two to give people the chance to have a go). The exercise - you need blank piece of paper, preferably A3 and some coloured good for writing with coloured felt tips (but not essential) - if no coloured pens available just use a pen. Somewhere in middle-ish of the page write down the word 'Happiness' and circle it, have 10 branches (lines) coming off of this, then write down 10 associations you have with 'happiness' as quickly as possible, preferably without pausing (like in about a minute). It doesn't matter if you think the words are ridiculous, just the first words that come into your head. If you get the chance see if you can get some others to do this exercise at the same time (with their own pieces of paper), but do not discuss the associations whilst doing the exercise. I'll explain more later :-)
