Wasn't that Monday, January 23rd? It was a great day for me: Jack and I

celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary!

Who would ever have believed when she was born 27 years ago that it would be

the child who has Down syndrome who would take charge of planning a " surprise "

46th anniversary dinner at our neighborhood pizzeria!?

Christi invited her 5 siblings and their spouses, but was adamant that there

be no kids (there are 21 who would have come along, so she seriously reduced

the competition for our attention!). She decorated our table with balloons

and colorful banners she and some of the granchildren made.

That afternoon she sent my phone a text message asking " What song did you

dance to at your wedding? " I had to reply that we didn't have dancing at our

wedding, but, in our day,we thought it was a very fine reception with hors

d'ouevres, champagne, and wedding cake. I bet if we had danced to " All the

Things

You Are " she would have sung it for us in front of the entire restaurant.

To Christi, no celebration is complete without dessert, so she bought a big

square slice of carrot cake from the bakery and topped it with candles in the

shape of numbers '4' and '6'.

She even bought us each a gift: two packs of sugarless gum for me, and a

bottle of Mondavi Cabernet for her Dad. And when the bill arrived, Christi

whipped out her credit card, which she gladly put it away when her siblings

split

the check. It was about time they contributed!

I told her she has 4 more years to plan our 50th.

Oh how sweet! Well, I guess that makes me think of what Karlee would do.

She loves Cinderella... so I guess I'll have a big carriage complete with

coachmen and footmen, mice, etc. When she does something sweet for us she

always

ends up saying how proud she is of us! LOL! When we are the ones that are

proud of her! LOL!

When we were at Disney world in 2005 there was a wedding taking place with

the carriage completeness and it was all we could do to keep her away!! She

loves center stage!

TTYS! Congratulations on the big 46 years!

Patrica,

LOL Yesterday was very sunny for us too. Today should be the depressing day,

because it is cloudy and raining here now. Although, since we have a state wide

burn ban, we are not complaining about the rain! LOL

How is Emma doing?

Angel,

LOL It had something to do with the winter months kicking in and the end of

the holiday season. I think people who charge for holiday presents begin to get

their bills around this time and that had something to do with it too. But, I

haven't been depressed all week, so I guess it doesn't apply to us all! LOL
