A simple way to improve mucus production for either conceptive or lubricative purposes, which may work for many couples is the addition of 1-4 teaspoons of virgin coconut oil to the diet. The trick is the virgin part as it is very high in caprilic and lauric acid so works at the level of the thyriod as well as being a natural antagonist to candida. If anyone tries it and it works for them would they be so kind as to let me know. Or if you would like more information email me off list at NFPLI@..

Therese~

I have many clients who add virgin coconut oil to their morning smoothies. Thinking about, I do notice less complaints of dryness among, specifically, my breastfeeding mothers that do this than among their non-coconut oil using counterparts. I, myself, use coconut oil quite a bit and have not had any dryness issues since starting that a few years ago.

I'm not sure if that's really helpful or not... :-)

Peace,

Thanks ,

I do alot of work with the Omega fatty acids etc. since I have 2 siblings with

Mental Illnesses and many friends with kids diagnosised ADD and ADHD etc.

So I keep wondering if all the information we have along that line would also

apply to infertility etc. Since the area I live in is Medically dominated,

most couple with fertility issues run straight to the fertility clinics so I get

few chances to follow ladies and help with nutritional approaches.

thanks again for responding ;-)

You're very welcome. You know, I do work with a lot of couples with fertility issues, but many of the doctors and other medical folks I work with frown on my suggestions of coconut oil and other things, because of concerns over saturated fats, etc.

It's a constant search for balance, I think.

BTW, just out of curiosity, which brand of coconute oil do you prefer. I go back and forth between Nutiva and Herbs of Light, but know lots of folks that swear by Tropical Traditions.

Tropical Traditions. As for the Fat problem. It isn't a saturated fat it is a mid chain fatty acid. I got involved with the oil/ fat question when my husband had by pass surgery. So far his numbers keep the Cardiologist very happy and the lifestyle changes ( excersise etc do not happen as well as they should so I try to control the diet stuff well.) When we switched the Omegas all menopausal symptoms on my end cleared up, gone, good bye, no more and my sons acne also left never to return. I have help a few families resolve the ADHD problem Also. When we joke we are what we eat and " we're nutty" it is no joke.. thnks for the conversation. My daughter used to live in ville.. she is now in the Keys.. being a Chef. I'll keep you in mind when we travel that way.

I agree completely regarding mid-chain fatty acid. I have seen that with many of my perimenopausal ladies, this has a huge impact on their symptoms, especially hot flashes.

Definitely let me know when you're heading this way. We've got an extra room if you need a stop along the way. :-)
