11 yr old boy with Disconect?

We are working with an 11 yr old boy who has a T3 disconnect. He was

adopted at 20 months in Cambodia, in a military orphanage. He had

signs of abuse, including cigarette burns. When training the

disconnect, we are reluctant to try and train eyes closed, and are

wondering if there is any negative reason to train eyes open?
