Guest guest
i dont know why people are arguing over it. the puzzle thing is tired, and i dont know of any AS adults who like it. its a bit insulting to be a puzzle. better to be original and invent your own products if you want to make money. __________________________________________________________________ McAfee VirusScan Online from the Netscape Network. Guest guest
I dont like the puzzle ribbon either, but it was just getting to be something that people UNDERSTOOD " oh that stands for autism " and now ASA wants to make money off it. But they dont own autism, so they shouldnt own the symbol that to lots of people MEANS 'autism' either. Guest guest
I to not mind the ribbon patterns of puzzles as we are so much unique and different from each other and come in many patterns of shapes and colors, yet we each bring to life our own set piece that completes life's picture so to me have no issues to the current logo. Yet many NT to see us all as not like this but as very puzzling and confusing peoples as if we do not fit into to society , the very fact puzzles fit together should represent that we too fit into life's plans. Guest guest
my friends and i see autism as an enigma - not understood, but complete in itself. the idea of the puzzle is that there are bits and pieces, it is not whole or complete, but fragmented. we represent the enigma with multi faceted chrystals - beautiful and fascinating and each has many aspects. when you look at the world through a chrystal, you have an unique experience of your environment. rather than all those ribbons, i mean how many ribbons does anyone want or need, a variety of personal interpretations would be much more interesting. i would let them have it. dull. dull. dull and done to death. autism is about individuality. __________________________________________________________________ McAfee VirusScan Online from the Netscape Network. Guest guest
I've often thought that a prism would be a great symbol for autism. Great minds think alike, Dianna! PennY > How about a piece of cut crystal on a chain or pin type thing? Each time the light hits another cut, it changes colors and reflects the most beautiful colors with penetrating light. Each side is a bit different but all still the same on the inside. > > Dianna >
Guest guest
I don't think my idea went through. How about a cut piece of metal in the shape of a swirl with a crystal prism in the middle? It could sort of symbolize the tornadic activity we feel when our child is first dxed, but then when you stop to look inside, you see the most beautiful work of art which also absorbs the world, returning to it pure, light of all colors of the spectrum. You think the jeweler could do something like that? I'd even be willing to pay a little for that! Guest guest
I've tried this 3 times! How about a metal background in the shape of a swirl and the center a prism. Craig says another word for a prism is a spectrum! Anyway, the swirl could symbolize the tornadic feeling we have when our kids are first dxed, but the crystal prism in the center can represent the beauty, that when we look in the center of the storm and see our child, taking in all the world and returning pure color.
