Title: Study hits hopes for ME cure (Financial Times, 26 February 2010)

Contains: British Medical Journal publishes a study by scientists at

Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre in the Netherlands, who could not

detect any XMRV in 32 Dutch patients with chronic fatigue ... This is the

third European study that has failed to replicate the US results. One reason

may be that the original study involved patients from a specific US outbreak

of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in the mid 1980s. It is possible that XMRV was

involved in this outbreak but does not play a substantial role in most cases

of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome elsewhere, the Dutch authors conclude.
