So terribly glad to hear that other's have seen the similarities. Ironically perhaps, Dan Burton is from my state! Imagine that. Guess doing my homework would really pay off wouldn't it. Guest guest
Welcome!!!! I don't know anything about an alzhimers connection, but definately change Drs. Find one that knows something about autism. Its sometimes hard to find one, it amazes me how many Drs. out there don't know anything about autism!! A Developmental Pediatrician would be a good thing to have also, they generally have more info than a regular Pediatrician. Good luck Robin

Guest guest
Sondra I am so glad that you are back. Glad your vacation was nice except for a few things. Is Aimee feeling better? 103 fever! Wow thats high, I would have been very worried.Glad that your speaking went well and you sold lots of books-thats great! Sorry to hear about your basement, fortunatly we didnt have much after effect problems from the blackout. Abby went back to school yesterday, today is her first full day-yesterday was only a half day. She seems to like it and I am very relieved by that. Now that I have time to myself I just dont know what to do with myself-LOL. Talk to you soon Pennie Abby's Mom
Guest guest
welcome I to be Sondra adult with HFA in Ohio. I to be of married and have 4 children who to start back to school this AM. Guest guest
Dianna, Sondra is married already, I believe she has 4 kids-maybe 5, I can never remember-LOL. Sondra is a great lady, she is an inspiration to all of us with children on the spectrum. There is another lady Kassiane that is a 20 year old-also on the spectrum. We had the priviledge of having her stay with us for 6 days back in July. Kassiane was here for the Junior Olympics. Of all the groups that I belong to, this is my favorite. Sondra & Kassiane have helped me get into Abby's mind and help her to ease some of her sensory issues and just understand how she thinks. Nice to have you in the group! Guest guest
Pennie, the vacation was of much fun except to get into trouble when we to first get there. I to love trees and so the trees caused me to be so much happy to be have seen them. So some jumping and flapping in my most happy way. So after to get into the hotel I to telled the husband I to be to go outside and see the trees, much want of the ocean too. So I to be to walked and not knowing walked about 3 miles stimming on the trees and did be to find the ocean simply by the smell of it. I to played for some time and then walked back 3miles to the hotel. The husband to be of angry because I to be of gone for 3-4 hours and he was of much worried and angry to me for that. I to be to goed to the ocean and 3 different beaches. My Aimee to be to get sick and was of fever of 103 while there so 2 days into the hotel with no fun to get out. I to be to loved much the plane and flying too , to see the clouds in such a way and things of this brings such a deep searching of my faith and life and brings a calm. My speaking went well, very well as to be to heared from district heads that I to be on evaluations was the only speaker to get complete top score and was with much comments on my speaking. Sold much of my books there and to be asked to speak again next year but they want me as a key note next year with several breakouts. I to also had several other professionals and district heads to ask of me to be to come to speak to them too so it bringed more speaking events to me. The bad was of this, I to be to comed home to a mess in the home. The basement to flood much bad and destroyed much of things. It to be to taked them 7 days to come and replace the carpet and so I can be to get to my things. So much stress in that as highly allergic to mold and it was of black mold everywhere in my basement. Now suffering from new carpet smells. The kids to be to go to the school for first day this AM so have been much quiet to this and now am just in deep sad over the news of the sweet baby who died because of the ignorance in life to autism, so much sad in this. Guest guest
hello and welcome to the group. i dont know about alzhimers meds. but one friend with an autistic boy 12 yrs. was on depacoat (spelling?) for ceisures. and the mother said that helped with his agression. my daughter is 6. i dont want to even think of her getting her peiord. one per house is enough. just kidding. i do worry about it though cause my mother is law is the 1st to go though menapause in her family, cause of the female problems in all the other sibleings they had hysterictimys. eric
Guest guest
Dianna, you girl is of able to have all she to dream and want in life with love and support of guidance from you and the family. Do she to know she is with autism? It to be to make much difference if they to grow knowing. She to play flute, I to like the sound of flute when blended with other instruments but the sound alone can be of painful to my ears, same to violin. I to love classicalmusic and the sounds much of stringed instruments. I to be to getted married when I to be to 24 and to be to had first baby when to be of 25. I to learned how to drive car when to be of 24 or so. I to be had first ever job at age 19. I to be to went to college and will return this year. I to be to want to have doctorate in education. I to be to also be of writer and speaker on autism. My oldest child is to be of 15 now. I to be married almost of 17 years in October. I to not be to ever to marry him ever again though LOL as married is too much hard and brings too much children's and work. I to think would be to have been much been better friend than wife. I to be to have much of my works up on the gray center web site it is under perspectives. Do you daughter to have true friends to her , ones who to accept her as she to be in life. By the way I to understand you use of the word normal meaning to give her all the things others her age would be to have exposure to and not one of fixing her to act in ways of foreign to her. Too many out to fix us and it cost the little boy hims life of recent and causes much angers to me and sad to me in that. He was of little boy, he was with autism , he to not be to have so much wrong or sin in hims to deserve this , they to be of mixed up peoples in life to try to think much sin to be in hims little life, he was of perfect as he was a boy, a boy who happens to be challenged by autism nothing more nothing less. Guest guest
Hi , My daughter is 14 and has been having puberty issues for the past 2 years. I've recently been researcing the " calming neurotransmitters " and came up with 2 amino acids that help calm the brain, thus reducing the emotional termoil our girls go through. has been taking Glycine for over a month and after 2 weeks on it, she became a much happier person with no emotional outbursts or aggression. I recently just started L-Theanine, another amino acid that helps promote relaxation and is the substance found in Japanese green tea. The website says it really helps with PMS symptoms. Just type in calming neurotransmitters in your search engine and you can look at the info yourself. Re: Hello from a new member > welcome I to be Sondra adult with HFA in Ohio.
