Guest guest
DEAR ALL, jai HO! I have been reading your logical comments on issue of ethics in vaccination.I had chance of talking to that reporter on monday for over 45 min. i have appraised her of the the fact & damage her article has done to commen pediatrician & GP.She has told me that two senior pediatrician from AIIMS have briefed her this fact & she is open to correct it. I told her that a private doctor has following cost to bear -cost of clinic/rent -commercial rates of electricity & water -property, convertion & parking tax9delhi) -cost of staff/nursing/paramedical - storage /cold chain - wastage & pilferage -records, resusitation kit/drugs & legal liabilities if someone has small clinic he can only get cost. Benefit isto the bulk purchaser who is not the doctor normally. If the same vaccine is bought in govt than it is costlier than pvt because Govt has system- -tender & purchase officer -store keeper -nurse & parmedical -qualified doctor -piferage & theft -local Record keeping & central MRD -establishment cost In Govt it is tax payer money & that is why per bed expenditure is more in Govt due to coruption/inefficiency & in accountability. We have to educate our own fratinity before we take up press.I agree with her on one point ie issue of need of some vaccination & unethical advertisment which is only possible in india.Money is nithing to do with ethics but undue promotion is. jai hind AJAY GAMBHIR member ethics committe Delhi medical council DR AJAY GAMBHIR 9811557085
