Despite the fact plans have begun marketing their 2008 plans,

the " Landscape of Local Plans " will not be available to the public

for several more weeks, according to CMS. Well, that is just

BOGUS in my book. I found this link to the CMS source

files for all 2008 plans. They are BIG, ZIPPED files but appear to

be broken down by state. As the files state, " Data as of

September 25, 2007. Includes all contracts/plans regardless of 2008

approval status. PACE, Special Needs Plans, Part B Only Plans, and Employer

sponsored plans (800 series) are excluded. "

With the obscene jump in plans for sale, this will

give you a look at what's headed your way.

Advantage program concludes that the number will rise 25 percent, to a total of

2,753.

Among

plans keying the growth are local preferred providers organizations; their

number will swell 29 percent to a total of 356 in 2008, according to the

analysis by the Gorman Health Group consulting firm.

The

number of private fee-for-service plans that will be offered next year - 509 -

is 47 percent more than in 2007, and the amount of Special Needs Plans - 772 -

is 62 percent more than last year, the analysis noted.
