That is the most horrid thing I have ever

heard. My God, how awful. But you can’t help her if she won’t

help herself. I hope she knows you are there if she needs you.

The pain my sister is running from happened while she was in

the army , She was abducted off the base and tortured for 16 hrs and then left

for dead . She won't get any counseling , so I have had to wash my hands of her

.. Although I will always love her

RE: share

I saw a story on Dr. Phil about 2 sisters who were on heroin; I

think they were twins. Of course, Dr. Phil was trying to help them and

the story continued, but I don’t recall how it ended. One sister

was pregnant I think and they were living in cars and doing whatever they had

to for the drugs.

I was fortunate in that, while I did live on the streets for

a short time, I was always smart enough to get by. You can credit

yourself for everything you did and then can only put their future in their own

hands, which you know.

mike you arent a minorty, my story is a little similar in ways, ill try and keep it short, my xhusband was a heroin iv drug user i wasnt, he was diagnosed in 1985 and that was it nothing was said then by the dr etc,,,,,strange but true, didnt really think of it i was a alcoholic myself but not doing iv drugs, i was divorced in 1997 and at this point he wasnt doing anything about his hep c and again wasnt really told to,and i just continued to drink and have sex and progressed to snorting coke and smoking it, never knew that hep c could be transmitted thru a rolled up dollar in yr nose,,,,i was diagnosed in the 90's myself and didnt tk it serious, didnt care etc,,,,,,,,and basically a few years ago i stopped partying and thats when this all came to light i wanted to treat but money was allways a issue i even went away for 6 monthsthis past year i learned so much and made changes as in taking care of my dad i knew i couldnt care for a 87 yr old man and bath him etc,,,and do

my treatment so he is in home now down the street for me, ive taken the measures i needed to tk, to make sure i treat and got free meds thru pegassist roche pharmacetiucal etc,,,,,,and here i am today, week 5 tomorow , i hate booze and drugs for what i allowed it to do for me and i have beggining stages cirrohsis so, mike never feel alone or different or the minorty love joycem human wrote: I had suspected that I had hep for years and was often prodded to get tested. My husband is now 45. Based on the progression of the

disease, he got Hep C when he was 14-18 years old. He

was a hell raiser back then, but can only attibute his

illness to a fight. Do not let the stereotypes bother

you-it could have come from anywhere!

I am sorry for your loss...I understand it more than

you know. I have had no choice but to walk away from

people I loved because they chose to do the drugs.

Please keep the faith!

I don't really know for sure where I got Hep C, but have never used needles in any way. Had three days of transfusions in 1976 before having a hysterectomy, so I figure that 's where it came from. I didn't know it til 1999, was just mysteriously sick a lot. I treated in 2000 and relapsed and have now been out of tx for almost 6 months for the second time. hep C but that we are all a family :)

Jackie,

Thank you so much for the caregiver page...we are all

in this together, regardless of where the illness came

from...we are all in this together!

We all have demons but the important thing is that we

all make peace with that!

Have a great night!
