Fatima is a thyroid cancer patient. That is why suppression is necessary for her.

For hashi, read the chapter on Hashimoto's Thyroiditis in Thyroid Manager.org. It states the treatment goal for Hashi to be between 0.3 and 1.0. Some good alternative docs like it lower than that.

It is next to impossible to change a doc's treatment standards and protocols. Your best bet is my favorite surgery: a radical doctor-ectomy!

>> I need to pass this info on to my doc. Every time I'm starting to feel normal on a dosage, she freaks because my tsh is suppressed & she wants to lower my dose. What do I need to tell her/why is a suppressed tsh important for hashi's? Are there links I can supply for her if she doesn't believe me? I'm feeling desperate over her because I got her to prescribe a compounded Rx for me & I'm feeling good. Just had labs drawn & I'm sure my tsh will come back as too low in her eyes. I want to be armed with this info for my appt with her.> Thank you sooooo much!> :)> > > > How are you doing? Have you had a chance to talk to Dr. G about the necessity of keeping your TSH suppressed? Have you had a dose increase?> There are still only two desiccated thyroid meds that are readily available: compounded and ERFA from Canada.
