Guest guest
Dear Shirley, You can buy DMSA without a perscription from www.vrp.com. There is an 800 nuber that I don't have handy. They sell it in 100 mg, so you'll have to figure out how to handle it if you want smaller doses. You can buy ALA on your own at health food stores or by mail order. Very available. Having a doctor who can be talked to about what is going on is definatley a good thing. (I have an acupunturist who is able to hear with calm and reason about everything I've been doing. I consider this a major windfall, and do not take it for granted. She has hung in with good humor through fasting, liver cleanses, bowel cleanses, oxygen therapy, and chelation....... She is one of those wonderful folks who thinks it is her job to support what the CLIENT wants.) Whether or not your doc is directing the chelation, perhaps you can feel them out to see if they can " handle " what you want to do.......and hopefully even be able to help you. I'm not sure about the " when to stop " question. I suppose in some cases that behaviour changes (in the on/off cycles) might tell you some. Or fecal/urine tests. It all seems a bit unclear to me, but I'm no where near needing to worry about that yet myself. Moria (taking ALA only: 160 pounds, 100 mg. every 3 hours; 2.6 days on, and 4 or 11 days off. I'm on round 5) ----------------------------------------------------------- Message: 24 Date: Sat, 03 Feb 2001 02:52:57 -0000 From: " Shirley " <ericshirl@...> Subject: Please post where you are from and your doctor to help others find one. I would really like to have a Dr. supervise chelating my son. If I can find a doc to do it, we will have to pay for it ourselves because we have to go through our pediatrician who will not do it. (we have a PPO) I see others who don't have a doctor too. I wouldn't mind doing it myself, except it is difficult to get DMSA, I won't know when to stop, I won't be able to monitor his behavior relating to the chelating, and if something were to go wrong, how would I explain it to his pediatrician. (who we will have for at least a year) If you have found a doctor, perhaps you could list your state and people could email you privately for advise for finding a doctor. Guest guest
Kirkman also has DMSA and Lipoic Acid. The DMSA does not require a prescription, but rather verification that the user is under a doctor's care. This verification can be phone, fax or written note from the doctor.
