Guest guest
Hi , Welcome! We all see results in different ways and on various schedules. For me, the changes may be barely measureable but as long as I am not slipping back into my old lazy habits, I know I am succeeding on the inside. Have you taken pics If not..take em...they will tell the real sotry when that darm scale lies. - jennifer > Just wanted to say Hi and Thank You! Guest guest
Its good you're aware at an early age. 1. Get Hayden exempted from any further vaccines immediately. 2. Go see a DAN doctor immediately and start testing 3. get organic rice milk instead of soy I have been reading all of your posts and am feeling a bitoverwhelmed. I have a 10 week preemie little boy, Hayden, who isalmost 22 months chronological(from birth date), and almost 20 monthsadjusted age (from due date). He is very social, easily engaged, loves hugging and kissing, and speaks well for his age. However, hehas started exhibiting some odd behaviors that have me worried. Weknow he has moderate sensory issues with noises and textures andmovement whom he has been seeing an OT for. However, he has started COVERING HIS EARS at loud noises, when he meets new people, or doesn'tfeel comfortable. He also FLAPS HIS HANDS when excited, upset orsometimes just because. He just began TOE WALKING intermittentlythroughout the day. Of course, I am concerned about autism. We have had him on soy milk due to constant rhinitis thinking that might helphis runny nose. However, your site sounds like soy is not good. Also, thinking about trying GF/CF.....any good websites to order foodsfrom or does Whole Foods carry a lot of those types of products. I guess my question is what should I do first. I am having himevaluated by the local CDSA in 2 weeks to see if they are concerned. I don't know of a DAN doctor in the Raleigh, NC area. I guess I justdon't know where to begin. Should I get some bloodwork done by a DAN doctor. We did make an appt with a pediatric allergist which I planto ask for allergy testing for foods, etc. Anything I shoulddefinitely ask for. I don't know where to begin.Thank you in advance for any advice or help! Christy (concerned and confused mom of possible autistic child) -- Warmest Regards, B. Guest guest
Agreed 100%. You're a great mother for recognizing the problem so early. I hope and pray you can avoid regression (loss of words). Don't let them inject him with another vaccine and don't do the flu shot EVER. Your son has the classic symptoms of autism. Have him evaluated and see a DAN doc immediately. Start him on a GFCF diet also.christyfking wrote: I have been reading all of your posts and am feeling a bitoverwhelmed. Guest guest
You've already gotten good advice so I'll just address your other questions. Yes, WF will carry some stuff. But not everything. Check every health food store in your area for things - get to know them well. You can also order online. Here is just one store: www.allergygrocer.com There are more to choose from.cherylI have been reading all of your posts and am feeling a bitoverwhelmed. Guest guest
Hi, I live in Amarillo, and I'm new to the group. I had surgery two years ago to remove the right side of my thyroid due to enlargement, and a suspicious biopsy. Before surgery my TSH was .6 After surgery, it remained steady for awhile at 1.5, and then this year has been flutuating to 2.2, 2.8, 2.6, etc, it is very different every time they test. Lately I've been feeling very tired, cold all the time, and I gained some weight this summer, not a lot, but noticeable for me since Ive never had that problem. I was just wondering what your thoughts are on this. My doctor says we'll keep checking every few months, but my TSH levels are within lab range. Thanks, Beth
Guest guest
Most docs think that anywhere in range is fine. But in range is not necessarily optimal. I would ask your doc to treat to your previous TSH level "as an experiment, to see if it would make me feel better." You might also ask him to run a Free T3 (not "Uptake") and Free T4 (direct, not "Index"). Do you have any nodules in the remaining lobe? If so, they should be watched. Small nodules can often be shrunk with a suppressive dose of thyroid hormone. If you were feeling well with a TSH of .5 before surgery, it is not surprising that you are not doing well with your TSH above 2. If your doc is not willing to work with you on this, then I would suggest that you seek out a different doc who may be willing to treat based on symptoms. The one doc in Amarillo that we recommend is an endo: Kenny Brantley. The folks we know who have seen him are thyroid cancer patients. We do not know how he is about treating "borderline" hypothyroid folks. Most endos are not good for hypo/hashi folks. >> Hi,> I live in Amarillo, and I'm new to the group. Guest guest
Hello Again! I am still trying to figure out how to reply to everyone at once! Thank you for the warm welcome. Final pathology came back cancer free, thank God! I haven't been put on any meds as of yet. My Dr wants to check my levels before he puts me on meds. We will do that at the beginning of April so until then, I am just going to heal and try to get back to living my life! > > Welcome , > > > > I'm saying a prayer that the final pathology comes out all clear. > > > > I'm in the Dallas area also. > > > > Kim > > > > _____ > > From: Texas_Thyroid_Groups > [mailto:Texas_Thyroid_Groups ] On Behalf Of jennnifer40 > Sent: Sunday, March 07, 2010 6:27 PM > To: Texas_Thyroid_Groups > Subject: New to the Group > > > > > > Hello Everyone, > > I just wanted to introduce myself.
